Elim Pentecostal Church Ireland own two Nursing Homes, one located in County Armagh (Hockley PNH), the other County Down (Lisadian PNH). The Homes are established to provide the highest standards of nursing care for patients in a comfortable, relaxed and homely environment.

The philosophy and practice within our Homes leads to a friendly, caring and stimulating atmosphere where patients are listened to and feel valued, their rights upheld, their cultural and religious beliefs are respected and living in the Home is a positive and beneficial experience. In order to achieve this, management and staff at all times seek to maintain the following values:

• DIGNITY AND RESPECT
The uniqueness and intrinsic value of individual patients are acknowledged and each person is treated with respect.

• INDEPENDENCE
Patients have as much control as possible over their lives whilst being protected against unreasonable risks.

• RIGHTS
Patient individual and human rights are safeguarded and actively promoted within the context of services delivered by the Home.

• EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY
Patients are treated equally and their background and culture are valued and respected. The services provided by the Home fit within a framework of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.

• CHOICE
Patients are offered, wherever possible, the opportunity to select independently from a range of options based on clear and accurate information.

• CONSENT
Patients have a legal right to determine what happens to them and their informed, genuine and valid consent to the care, treatment and support they receive is essential.

• FULFILMENT
Patients are enabled and supported to lead full and purposeful lives and realise their ability and potential.

• SAFETY
Patients feel as safe as possible in all aspects of their care and life and are free from exploitation, neglect and abuse.

• PRIVACY
Patients have the right to be left alone, undisturbed and free from unnecessary intrusion into their affairs and there is a balance between the consideration of the individual’s own and others’ safety.

• CONFIDENTIALITY
Patients know that information about them is managed appropriately and will not be disclosed without permission, except when required by legislation or the need to protect the well-being of others. We believe that these values when integrated into all aspects of planning, delivery and review of services, the minimum standards are being met, and the Home is a resource that delivers the best possible outcomes for patients living here.

General information

It is our sincere objective to provide a happy, homely, non-clinical and non-institutionalised atmosphere; thus giving support, security and assistance to elderly people who for various reasons are no longer capable of coping either alone or with help in their own environment. We endeavour to encourage patients to lead as normal a life as possible, maintaining personal dignity, independence and individuality thereby providing physical, emotional and spiritual help.
