Getting our residents involved in decorating the home for Valentine’s Day has been such a beautiful experience.

These moments do more than make our home look lovely — they create a true feeling of belonging, comfort, and connection. When our residents help decorate, it turns Rose House into their home, filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

A special thank you to everyone who helped spread the Valentine’s cheer by creating a love-heart-filled frame for the entrance of the St Leger Café ❤️ Your creativity has made such a welcoming and heartfelt display for all to enjoy.

From snowy vows in 1963 to a lifetime of love and adventure, Janet and Phil share their beautiful story as part of the 💗

Married on 2nd February 1963 at Creswell Church near Worksop - with snow so deep Janet’s brothers had to dig a path to the church - their journey together has been defined by resilience, devotion and unwavering support. From building their life in Chesterfield and welcoming their daughter, to travelling coast-to-coast across Canada, their happiest moments have always been side by side. Today, they continue their love story together at Rose House care home 💕

Our lounge has been filled with laughter, colour and creativity as residents have been busy hand-crafting beautiful woollen hearts together. It’s been a lovely reminder that love and friendship live in the little moments we share every day.

These handmade hearts are more than just decorations — they are symbols of the care, kindness and connections that make Rose House such a special place to call home. Whether it’s a smile, a chat over a cuppa, or a helping hand, love is always close by here ❤️

Today we tried out a simple but fun hand-eye coordination challenge — and it was a hit! 🎯

Our residents really rose to the challenge, showing great focus, determination, and plenty of smiles along the way. It was wonderful to see everyone cheering each other on as they gave it their very best go 💙

From a first introduction to a friendship that feels like sisterhood, Mabel and Judith share their heartwarming story as part of the 💗

When Mabel moved into Rose House care home, something truly special began. Introduced by the team after spotting their shared personalities and love of fun, the pair formed an instant bond that has grown stronger each day. From quiet moments spent side by side to shared activities and laughter, their connection brings comfort, joy and companionship 💕

Now living life together at Rose House, Judith and Mabel continue to brighten one another’s days through simple but meaningful routines, including Judith lovingly making Mabel a morning coffee — a beautiful reflection of their friendship!

🧠✨ Keeping those brains active today at Rose House!

We enjoyed a few fun games of Hangman with Sharon and Sona, getting everyone’s thinking caps on and lots of smiles all round. Laughter, teamwork and a little friendly competition made it a great session!

Our Chef Jake and Kitchen Assistant Chris hosted a truly delightful Italian-themed meal for our residents today. From the delicious flavours to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, it was a fantastic experience enjoyed by everyone — it truly brought a taste of Italy to Rose House! 🍝🍷

Our culinary journey has only just begun… we wonder which country we’ll be stamping in our passports at the next themed event! 🌍✈️

Nothing beats getting cosy on a wet, rainy day and settling in for a film afternoon 🎬☔️

Here at Rose House, we’re lucky to have our very own cinema room, which means we can create experiences for our residents without even needing to step outside.

Comfy chairs and a great film on the screen — the perfect way to spend a gloomy afternoon 💛

Sometimes it’s the simple moments that bring the biggest smiles.

Driver Tom took the girls on a mini-bus adventure to the museum and let’s just say… FUN was had by all! 🚌✨

From curious minds to big smiles (and maybe a little excitement on the journey there 😉), it was a day packed with laughs, learning, and memories made.
