We welcome the Government’s announcement of investment in hundreds of new Neighbourhood Health Centres - a positive step towards accessible, community-based healthcare that can has the potential to help people access mental health support earlier.

However, as Martin Bell, our Head of Policy and Public Affairs, notes: “For this to succeed, we urge the Government to include qualified counsellors and psychotherapists working alongside other health professionals.”

We also welcome the confirmation of an independent review into young people, health and work. Young people aged 16–34 with mental health conditions are 4.7 times more likely to be economically inactive, and the review provides an important opportunity to address this and ensure young people have targeted, early support.

But the Chancellor’s Budget once again missed the chance to introduce targeted measures for mental health - despite growing demand and the clear economic and social benefits.

We will continue to advocate for increased investment in counselling and psychotherapy across the NHS, education, the third sector, and workplaces to meet rising need and support sustainable health and employment outcomes.

Today is – a powerful reminder that ending violence against women and girls starts with all of us.

Letting sexism slide isn’t harmless - it puts women and girls at risk.
Catcalling
Sexist "jokes"
Staring or unwanted comments

These behaviours create a culture where violence and abuse can grow. It’s time to challenge it.

This , we’re calling on everyone – especially men – to speak up, challenge disrespect, and help create communities where women and girls are safe, equal, and respected.
Ending violence is not just a women’s issue – it’s everyone’s responsibility. Start conversations, call out inappropriate behaviour, and be an ally.

A day to celebrate men

Today is International Men’s Day and it’s a good chance to give a shout-out to the blokes and young fellas who keep our families, our workplaces and our communities going.

This year’s theme is Celebrating Boys and Men and I reckon that’s bang on.

Because being a man isn’t about pretending you’re tough all the time. It’s about being a good bloke, showing up, looking after your mates and being someone the young fellas can look up to.

International Men’s Day is all about
👊 Good role models. The dads, stepdads, uncles, coaches, teachers and workmates who show boys how to be decent men.
🧠 Men’s mental and physical health. Too many blokes still keep everything bottled up.
⚖️ Calling out the pressure on men and boys to just push through and never ask for help.

And let’s be honest, if you’re doing your best, juggling work, family and life, even if you rock a dad bod, tell terrible jokes and wander around Bunnings for no reason, you’re doing alright.

So today, just do one thing
✔️ Send a mate a message
✔️ Book that doctor’s appointment
✔️ Tell a young fella you’re proud of him
✔️ And if you’re struggling, talk to someone

When we back boys and men, the whole community is better for it.

Happy International Men’s Day.

On 25th November, we come together for International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women - a day to honour survivors, raise awareness, and remember the women who have lost their lives to violence.

It is also White Ribbon Day, a powerful moment for men and boys to stand as allies, speak out, and support the mission to create a safer world for women everywhere.

We will be standing together with the West Sussex Women’s Institute for a candle-lit vigil by the Christmas Tree at The Market Cross in Chichester, where speakers will share stories, reflections and messages of solidarity.

This gathering is a moment for our community to come together, shine a light on gender-based violence, and show our unwavering support for change.

All are welcome.
