The dedicated and experienced team at Larkland House, a purpose-built care home in Ascot, Berkshire, offers a range of care options for older people, including residential, dementia and nursing respite care as well as short term respite care. Being an established care home, Larkland House has developed a great reputation for delivering the highest standards of care. The team create a unique, personalised care plan for each resident, considering their individual needs and wishes. The home is designed over three floors, each with its own dining room and lounge, and it is entirely wheelchair accessible. The light and spacious bedrooms are all en-suite, and residents are welcome to bring their own possessions to add a personal touch.

🐣 Exciting news from our home! 🐣

Last Saturday was a very special day for us as our chicks finally started hatching! We’re so pleased to share that we had a 50% hatch rate and all 5 of our chicks successfully hatched 🐥💛 It has been such a lovely experience for our residents to watch them arrive and see them grow stronger each day.

Now comes the fun part… they need names!

We would love our families, friends, and community to help us name our fluffy new arrivals. If you have any name suggestions, please comment them below 👇

It’s Nutrition & Hydration Week and today we celebrated Thirsty Thursday in style! 🍹💧

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic cocktail making class, filled with laughter, creativity and of course some delicious (and hydrating!) drinks. A huge thank you to our amazing kitchen team who put together a beautiful trolley full of nutritious snacks and refreshing treats to keep everyone energised and hydrated throughout the day. 🍓🥒🍍

Moments like these show how good nutrition and hydration can be both healthy and fun, while bringing everyone together to socialise and try something new!

Today we enjoyed another fantastic Moveball session with Mark⚽😊

Moveball is a fun and engaging form of ball therapy that encourages gentle movement, coordination, and social interaction. Sessions like these can be incredibly beneficial for residents, helping to improve mobility, support wellbeing, encourage teamwork, and most importantly, bring lots of smiles and laughter. 💛

It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, cheering each other on, and enjoying the activities together. Thank you to Mark for delivering such an enjoyable and inclusive session – we are already looking forward to the next one!

Activities like this show how important it is to keep both mind and body active while creating meaningful moments for our residents. 🌟

🐣 Chick Update! 🐣

Our eggs are now in what we call “lockdown” – this means it’s a very important stage in the hatching process where the chicks are getting into position ready to hatch. During this time it is crucial that the eggs are not disturbed, as this helps give our chicks the best possible start. 🥚✨

If all goes to plan, we are expecting our fluffy arrivals to start hatching on or after 21st March, and we couldn’t be more excited! Everyone is eagerly waiting and we’ll be sure to share more updates as soon as they begin to arrive. 🤍🐥

Our residents had so much fun at our silent disco – lots of singing, dancing and laughter all round! 💃 It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the music!

After all that dancing, we relaxed with some tasty cakes 🍰 and of course a little Guinness 🍺 to celebrate properly!
