📘 The Inner Game Isn’t Optional. It’s Everything.

You can train the body.
You can train the technique.
But unless you’re working with the inner game - your presence, your attention, your emotional regulation, your story - you’re not truly training. You’re rehearsing your limitations.

This image is playful. But the work Colin Reeve does is anything but.

Founder of Washindo Kai. Way of the Peaceful Heart, a lifelong explorer and teacher of The Peaceful Way, Colin is currently writing his third book and designing a new immersive workshop exploring the inner game of embodied mastery.

This isn’t about pushing harder or adding more.

It’s about becoming less divided inside – so we can lead, move, relate and live with more coherence, clarity and vitality.

💭 If you’re curious about the practice of staying young while growing old, and how to access your deepest intelligence through body, breath and presence – this is work worth exploring.

📩 DM me if you'd like to hear more about the next Washindo workshop.

Excited to share in our next Wellbeing Habits Day Retreat - Yoga, mindful movement, sound healing & habits workshop, we will be joined by the wonderful Lisa Hill Balanced Fitness who will be running an intro to MELT session, helping us to get more from our practice and enhance our wellbeing and awareness. What’s MELT I hear you say?
The MELT Method is a self-care treatment that eliminates chronic pain, improves performance and decreases accumulated stress caused by the repetitive postures and movements of everyday life. MELT rehydrates the connective tissue, also known as fascia, rebalances the nervous system, and restores space to compressed joints. This is achieved using specialised soft rollers and balls to improve the hydration and fluid exchange in the connective tissue system. The MELT Method helps to calm the mind and ease pain symptoms, improve sensorimotor control and restore joint stability and will release the joint compression that contributes to chronic pain, inflammation and discomfort.
Remember, we’re also gifted with the beautiful presence of Monica Luna Sound & Energy who will close out the retreat with a glorious sound healing session

A great reminder of the brain's plasticity and the power of mindfulness to manage stress. Our brain is a tool to actively protect, improve and use and we know that combining mindfulness with movement as we do in Washindo has so many benefits, on the dojo, but more importantly, in life.

I had a fantastic morning with the talented Terry Joshi recently and couldn’t be more delighted with the results of my brand shoot. ❤️ If your business brand needs a polish and to stand out in a noisy and crowded marketplace, I strongly recommend Terri for her professionalism, her ability to help you feel relaxed and for the way she prepares for the shoot to optimise your time with her. I’m excited to work with the portfolio of great pics- expect to see them showing soon on LinkedIn (Mindshift Performance) and on my upgraded website. 😘

An interesting piece of research on the impact of exercise on brain matter. Did you know that at least 80% of brain grey matter is modifiable by physical activity?

Physical activity has many significant associations with the structure and function of our brain.

For example, exercise appears to bias the amygdala - the brain's stress and fear centre - towards feelings of happiness and away from fear (PMID: 31875047).
A review of 53 studies revealed an extensive network of brain areas associated with physical activity (PMID: 28600001).

The volume of these areas was equal to 82% of the total grey matter volume in the brain!

The findings highlight the significance of physical activity in a wide range of applications, including:

📈 Rehabilitation.
👴🏻 Preventing age-related declines in cognition.
🧠 Improving cognitive abilities such as learning or memory in healthy populations.

It's part of why we're so passionate at Peaceful Way to work with our practitioners to help them live healthier longer. Smile-Breathe-Grow Yoga with Karen Stone Colin Reeve Karen Stone

❓Have you noticed the benefits of physical activity on your brain health and cognitive performance?

Watch out for our NEW BEGINNERS PROGRAMME in Crowthorne starting 9th January 2024. Details coming soon :-)
