đ Merry Christmas đ
Day one of the Christmas break and⌠I didnât wake up until 9am!!
No alarm. No inbox scan. Just sleep.
My body (and my brain) finally went âaaaah.â
I was supposed to go on a Christmas Eve walk this morning but I completely missed it. I was genuinely gutted and if Iâm honest, I felt guilty too. Iâd said yes, and I felt like Iâd let people down.
But then it hit me, I clearly needed the sleep; after a full year of early starts, work trips, nursery runs and life âstuffâ, my body actually gave itself permission to rest.
It was a reminder of how important it is to stop. To properly slow down. To step away from the constant doing, to embrace this break we now have and rest; and also to be present, especially with the people who matter most and who have supported me throughout the year.
And this year has been another big one. The company I work for has seen huge growth, multiple acquisitions and lots of change. Brilliant and exciting in many ways, challenging at times too.
And then this wonderful community, our lovely non profit venture âRewild & Thriveâ has also bloomed this year, with more beautiful retreats than the year before (and even more to come next year).
Itâs been incredible to watch it grow with the help of my siblings alongside me, knowing we are building something that changes lives for the better and helps those in need. đą đą đą
But whatâs made the difference at every turn, as always, is working alongside great people and being part of a great team. The support, humour, and shared effort through the tougher moments really matter.
So over the next few days, I hope you too get the chance to pause, breathe, rest, and enjoy some proper quality time with your loved ones.
The festive period doesnât need to be some perfectly curated event that causes more stress in your life. I promise that the people who love you and care about you wonât care how beautifully the presents are wrapped; or whether the table is set out like a magazine cover image. They will just enjoy you being around, spending time together and being truly present in the special moments.
So if doing those things brings you joy and calm, then great - but if they cause you stress and anxiety, they donât need to happen.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a rested, energised start to the year ahead â¨
