During her work experience at Best You Reiki & Harmony through Horses, Jessie shares a reflection on what she discovered while spending time at the Reiki Barn, exploring how Reiki can bring a different way of being with aniamls, especially horses.

Rather than focusing purely on traditional riding roles, during her week at The Reiki Barn, Jessie also experienced a softer, more relationship-based approach. She learned about boundaries, not through control, but through awareness, presence, and mutual respect between horse and human.

Working alongside Helen Craven and being introduced to Reiki, Jessie began to see horses not just as partners in riding, but as teachers in their own right. Here I share my journey from traditional, science-based horse training into the deeply intuitive world of Reiki and horse-led healing.

This interview was inspired by a visit from work experience student Jessie, who was curious to learn more about Reiki, horses, and a more heart-led way of working. What unfolded is an honest and insightful conversation exploring both the practical and the magical aspects of this path.

Once rooted purely in physiology and performance, Helen began to feel a loss of joy and connection in her work with horses. Her introduction to Reiki in 2015 marked a turning point, helping her return to centre, reconnect with her heart, and rediscover a more soulful way of working.

Through her work with horses, Helen now blends equine science with energy healing, creating powerful, consent-based sessions where both human and horse are supported. She shares how horses respond to energy, how they guide healing, and why relationship, not control, is at the heart of her approach.

We also hear about the special role of a horse named Samdera, who helped Helen reopen her heart and deepen her practice.

At my recent Horse led healing session Jessie and I began the day preparing the horses with grooming, Reiki, and clear communication. I have been gently preparing them for this for several years. I sent Reiki ahead to support the session too.At the space, we settled in, I created a Reiki circle, and dropped into a short meditation. One by one, each person stood and each horse chose who they wanted to work with.From there, we moved into a deeper Reiki journey, supporting creativity, release, and embodiment. The horses guided the process, offering intuitive healing where it was needed most, if drawn.We closed gently, then grounded everything through playful connection with the horses finishing with tea & cake, and allowed everything to land ✨

Last night at Arbor Low, Derbyshire I led a sacred Earth activation for Spring Equinox ✨

The stone circle stood in perfect balance, held between the setting sun and the waxing moon.

The energies felt potent on this particular visit and there was a beautiful vibration of liberation energy rising up through the earth.

We bathed in this with Reiki and I guided a meditation which tuned in to this liberation frequency. I leaned into it closely to be a channel for her messages.

The energy brought a powerful sensation that felt both fresh and inspiring. It was wonderful to feel this liberation energy flowing through my energy body and streaming around our circle, before returning again to the earth lines.

It felt deeply connecting and bonding to Mother Earth.

We then spent time alone, individually reflecting on the words:

If I were completely free in this moment, what would I do?

It brought up different guidance and feelings for each of us. Some were shared and some held sacred deep within, to come to light, fruition or be expressed in their own way and in their own time.

We closed at dusk as the day slipped quietly away, leaving a sense of peace and stillness.

And with it, an affirmation available to be claimed:

🌿 Horse-Led Healing with Sparky - rich insights from Jessie's experience

At Harmony Through Horses, the horses lead… the Connection comes before choice… and that’s where the magic begins. ✨

Following our first & Harmony Through Horses, 'horse led healing' session yesterday, I sat down with Jessie (our current work experience student) to hear how she found it.

Her insights were fascinating and it was wonderful to hear a participant reflection of how the experince felt.

During the session, Jessie was paired with Sparky, a horse she claims she wouldn’t naturally have chosen due to her confident and powerful presence. Yet through the Reiki work, something shifted.

What followed was a genuine connection, where communication, awareness, and understanding began to develop in a way that went beyond expectations.

This conversation explores:
• First impressions of Reiki and working energetically with horses
• What happens when we move beyond preference and allow connection
• How horses lead the process in their own quiet but powerful way
• The shift from thinking to feeling, and what that opens up

The wider session included multiple participants and horses, creating a shared space of learning, healing, and observation, but this debrief brings us back to one simple and important place… hearing it straight from Jessie.

🌿 Monday Meditation | Holy Fire® Reiki for Grounded Clarity to step nto spring

In this Monday meditation, Helen guides a gentle yet powerful Holy Fire® Reiki journey, supporting you to release uncertainty and reconnect with a deeper sense of clarity, safety, and inner knowing.

This session weaves together energy awareness, chakra connection, and grounded presence, offering a space to reset both physically and energetically.

Following the recent seasonal shift around Ostara, this meditation focuses on aligning with higher timelines, softening out of overwhelm, and allowing anticipation to become something supportive rather than destabilising.

Helen also shares reflections from recent work at Harmony Through Horses, including a Reiki with horses retreat, and introduces a new chapter with a work experience student joining for the week. Together, this opens a window into how Reiki can be lived, experienced, and integrated beyond meditation alone.
