It is with great sadness that I have to announce the indefinite pausing of Mamatoto Birthing.
My physical and mental health aren't in great shape at the moment and I need to strip everything back in my life to the basics. Looking after 3 children on my own, working full time and also running a business has taken its toll on me these past 18 months and I think it's now time I admit defeat. I feel like butter spread too thin to the point I'm not really anywhere right now.
Thank you to each and every one of my clients, it has meant the world to me that you've chosen me to encapsulate your precious placenta, your support has honestly meant (and continues to mean) everything.
I still have a few Mother and Baby balms left if anyone would like one, just DM me.

Mother and Baby Balm has turned into my runaway best seller and it's easy to see why! With no additives or fragrance, it's perfect for delicate newborn skin, helping heal baby acne, dry spots and nappy rash rapidly.
It is also perfect for post birth scar and stitch healing too (and why I always pop a sample tin in when I deliver encapsulation packages).
Great as a facial moisturiser but also as a make up removing cleanser too.

211 beautiful steamed placenta capsules!
I'm often asked when taking a booking, how many capsules will I get from my placenta and in all honesty, I can't say.
Placentas vary in size just as much as babies do but what is important is that the whole of your placenta will be used to create your capsules. Absolutely nothing is wasted.

Menopause Awareness day.
Were you aware that a tincture made from your placenta could be used to ease your menopause symptoms?
If stored correctly, a placenta tincture will last indefinitely which is why it is the perfect remedy to have made when your last baby is born.
A tincture can be added on to your capsules booking or I can always make a tincture at a later date with a few of your capsules.

I've had a fair few new followers so I thought I'd do a re-introduction.
I'm Rachael, single mum to my 3 little Welsh dragons Constance Audrey 8, Hope Enfys 7, and Ioan (pronounced Yo-An and spelt with an i) Gareth, 3.
As well as being a placenta encapsulation expert and placenta skincare specialist, I'm also serving (and have been for over 19years!) in the RAF.
My passion for all things birth related with a special emphasis on the post partum period started after the birth of my second baby.
I had my placenta encapsulated with all 3 births and despite having quite a traumatic birth with my first, my recovery was surprisingly smooth.
With my second, I had a postpartum haemorrhage but with the help of a placenta smoothie and my capsules I managed to avoid the need for either an iron infusion or iron tablets.
And to finish, 3 weird facts about me:-
⚡I have ADHD and my brain's constantly jumping from one thing to the next. I procrastinate A LOT but when my mind's set on a task I can plough through on for hours.
⚡I used to powerlift for the RAF and Wales and had 2 world records at one point. At my strongest I could deadlift 180kg at 70kg bodyweight.
⚡I'm a MASSIVE metalhead! Love going to metalcore gigs and rock festivals, my favourite bands are Architects, Palaye Royale and Parkway Drive 🖤🤘.

Placenta capsules - Steamed method
There are 2 methods for encapsulating your placenta, the simple and the steamed. The steamed method involves steaming the placenta with chilli, lemon and ginger, which is thought to have a warming effect on the body and restore your life energy after giving birth and add recovery.
It is also reported to have a stabilising effect on mood and also rebalances hormones.
I always offer a videocall with prospective clients and discussing which method of encapsulation they feel would be right for them is a part of this.
There are certain situations when only the steamed method can be done too (e.g. when GBS or meconium is present at birth).

The encapsulation process!
I love being able to support my clients through their precious postnatal period and fourth trimester.
I provide everything you'll need to store your placenta until I collect it. And don't worry, neither you, nor your birth partner will have to see or handle your placenta! After your midwife has checked it over, they will place it in the storage system I provide.
Placenta encapsulation is the perfect way to ensure you get your postnatal period off to the best possible start.

Each of your placenta capsules is filled lovingly by hand! It's a time consuming job but one I find strangely calming.
People sometimes ask how many capsules they'll get from their placenta and it can range from an average of 90-280 (I think the most I've ever worked with gave 323 capsules!)
By filling by hand, I can always check that equal amounts are put into each capsule and that there is zero wastage.

Mother and Baby Balm, it really is a wonder product and not just for new mums and babies!
A lovely client contacted me to let me know that she'd had an allergic reaction to some new washing powder which had caused hives all over her body.
