✨ 10 week Posture Correction Program — Before & After ✨
Sponsored Athlete came to me 10 weeks ago with complete postural misalignment, pain after training, hip instability, and limited glute activation on the right side, whilst experiencing piriformis tightness and sciatica-type symptoms, with pain running down the leg into the calf, which was present constantly at the start of the program.
For the first five weeks, we added weekly treatments alongside a softer rehabilitation, prehab and rehab plan to carefully work through tight and dominant areas of the body.
A key issue was the right hip flexor, which was highly dominant due to the demands of her sport. This in turn limited hip extension and inhibited the right glute to misfire. Once the glute becomes inactive, hip stability is compromised, creating compensations through the pelvis and spine.
Our priority was releasing the dominant right hip flexor and adductor, addressing calf tension, and activating the right glute max & medius (hip extension and stability). Each week the program was progressively staged, increasing volume, intensity and load to build strength, control and muscular agility.
Over time, the piriformis relaxed, the glute max and glute med began firing efficiently, and the hip flexor became less dominant. Ella has now returned to wrestling pain-free. Her hips are visually aligned, posture is neutral through the spine, and her body is functioning as it should.
The first five weeks included weekly acupuncture, trigger point therapy, deep muscle work, met techniques, cupping therapy, fascial work and fascia blading. The following five weeks reduced treatments to fortnightly while increasing rehabilitation and prehab to maintain strong, stable and mobile posterior chain for long-term performance and injury prevention.
