We all know one: the person who is everyone’s emergency contact, but doesn’t actually have one themselves ☎️🆘

International Pilates Day is this Saturday ✨ Most studios will use it to post a photo of someone doing a teaser on a beach. We’re using it to find the person who is currently carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders (which, for the record, is terrible for their posture).

Earth Day was on Wednesday, but at KIND, we celebrate it all year round! 🌱

Being a sustainable studio isn’t just about the props we use (though we love our cork and organic cotton!). It’s about the ripple effect. It’s the energy-saving LED bulbs, the circular economy furniture you sit on after the class, the air-purifying plants, and the way we incentivise you to leave the car at home.

The transition from a high-pressure office environment to the saddle is a significant physiological shift.

Spending 40+ hours a week rounded over a laptop creates a predictable pattern in the body: a tight thoracic spine and “lazy” glutes. When that posture is moved onto the bike, it often results in a cycling slump - that nagging lower back ache and restricted breathing that kicks in sooner than you expect it to.
Pilates is the essential reset button, turning a body adapted for the desk into one optimised for the road.

The pros have been using it for years. Sir Bradley Wiggins famously used Pilates to build the core stability required to win the Tour de France, and Victoria Pendleton credits it for managing the postural strain that comes with thousands of miles in the saddle.
Even if your focus isn’t strictly on top performance, your body will thank you for stronger core and glutes when you get to mile 20.
