Both Friday morning and Friday afternoon Little Leaves sessions are now fully booked (Thank you! 🙏) There are a few spaces left for our first Saturday session though if you fancy a trip to the woods to decompress and blow away the cobwebs this week. 🕸️🌳😮‍💨

Kingsnorth Parish Council, in partnership with Ripleys Garden Centre (Bethersden, TN26 3LF), will be offering free spring bulbs and a bird feeder to Kingsnorth Parish Residents (Park Farm, Washford, Bridgefield, Roman, Kingsnorth Village) if you have a Kingsnorth Parish Post Code and pay your Council Tax in Kingsnorth you count.

*Numbers are limited and will be on a first come first serve basis*

**Bulbs & Bird Feeders will be available from mid-September**

Do you eat babybel cheese? Please can you save the wax halves for me? (not the tear strip though, they don’t melt). I use them at Forest school.

We have been asked many times for afternoon sessions and to run sessions on Saturdays, so here you go!

🕑 Afternoon sessions start next week, these are going to be aimed at folk who want a less busy session 💛

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Saturday sessions also start next week. These are for under 10’s so you can bring the whole clan.

🌅 And of course we still have our Friday morning sessions too, for all you early risers out there.

We’re very excited to start this new chapter of Righteous Oaks, thanks for being part of the journey🌳💚🌿

Yesterday my husband called me over to see some “funky looking bees” I took one look and knew they were yellow legged Asian hornets. How did I know? Because I’d looked up what they look like when I heard how deadly they are to our bees. You can check out the photos in this post (taken from the Asian Hornet app) so you’ll know when you see one. Just look for the yellow legs!!

We quickly took a photo and reported the sighting on the app Asian Hornet Watch (this is super easy to do) this morning a team arrived and spent the day monitoring our garden. They are tracking the hornets to find their nest in order to destroy it. The first photo shows one they trapped. They marked its back with a white dot and let it go. This then showed them how long it took to fly away and back again, which in turn narrows down the area where the nest is.

There definitely is one somewhere nearby. So if you’re in please keep a look out 👀 and report any sightings asap. Take a photo, but don’t get too close. Particularly if there’s more than one (as that might mean your near the nest which they’ll protect). We need to do everything we can to look after our bees 🐝 🐝
