We put so much effort into showing up for everyone else, our families, our work, our responsibilities, that it becomes easy to leave ourselves off the list entirely.

But here’s the truth, if you’re not included in your own care, everything you give starts coming from a place of depletion instead of strength.

Self-care isn’t just bubble baths or time off, it’s making sure you matter in your own daily life. It’s checking in with yourself, setting boundaries, resting when you’re tired, and choosing not to run on empty.

When you include yourself in your to-do list, you’re not being selfish, you’re being sustainable.

The more regulated, rested, and supported you feel, the more present, patient, and genuine you can be for everything and everyone else that matters.

You deserve to be a priority in your own life, not an afterthought.

Grounding for Anxiety
When clients ask me how do I keep myself grounded at home, I always suggest these 2 simple exercises specifically tailored for anxiety, these are designed to calm your nervous system quickly and bring you out of your racing thoughts 🧠

🫁 Extended Exhale Breathing (very effective)
Anxiety often speeds up your breathing, this reverses it.
Inhale for 4 seconds
Exhale for 6–8 seconds
Repeat for 2–5 minutes

👉 Longer exhales signal your body that it’s safe to relax.

🖐️ Hand-on-Heart + Pressure
Place one hand on your chest, one on your stomach
Apply gentle pressure
Breathe slowly

👉 The physical contact can feel reassuring and stabilizing.
