Iβve been afraid my whole life.
And really, that makes perfect sense; life is hard and the human heart is soft.
But there comes a point for us all where we think: no more.
A point at which you see, your protective walls are keeping out more good stuff than bad.
There are many ways to overcome fear and break out your brave.
I have been hard at it for some time now.
Some fears are valid, essential to survival but perhaps given more credibility than they deserve and allowed to grow in the dark (fear hates light), until they loom larger than life.
And others, are all bars in the cages we built around ourselves over the years.
Each heartache, a bar in that cage.
Each love lost - that could have encouraged us to love more whilst we can - but closes our heart instead, to save from more pain.
A failure perhaps, that should have been a springboard to success but was allowed to hold us down instead.
I have come to the conclusion that it is the easiest thing in the world to let fear fence us in.
But hereβs the thingβ¦ to begin breaking out, you only have to be truly brave once; the first time. Just begin, everything will be nudged into motion and take on a life of its own. The universe will see to that.
Just do it. Face a fear, feel the adrenaline, take the risk and be there for yourself whatever the outcome.
There are many ways to be afraid in this life - and many ways to fail.
But I think failing to be afraid WHILST βdoingβ, is the worst of all.
I am afraid whether I am doing nothing, or doing everything - so I may as well go forth right?
Youβre supposed to be afraid.
We all are.
Now letβs get on with the doing and give our fear something to exhaust itself out with. Like toddlers high on sugar, fear will eventually crash and fall soundly asleepβ¦.
