We were delighted to welcome Ashford MP, Sojan Joseph, to IC24.

During his time with us, he met with our leadership team, toured our call centre, and listened in on an NHS 111 call to see first-hand how we support patients in his constituency.

Today we celebrate 10 years since IC24 first began providing NHS 111 and Out of Hours services in Norfolk!

Over the past decade, what began as 111 and Out of Hours has grown into a wider, more integrated service for patients, now including our Clinical Assessment Service and the award-winning Unscheduled Care Coordination Hub, while also introducing innovative approaches such as Ambulance Validation in 2018 and ED Validation in 2020. These developments, achieved through close collaboration with our system partners and the ICB, have helped ensure patients receive the right care in the right place.

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, the impact we’ve had, and the partnerships that make it all possible.

We’ve created a new video to help explain how NHS 111 works.

This came directly from feedback at patient participation group meetings, where people told us they wanted a clearer understanding of what happens when they use the service.

The video has already been shared by Healthwatch, GP practices and local groups — and now you can watch it too.

Get to know Rachel, one of our Health Advisors at IC24, as she shares her recent adventure in Zanzibar where she volunteered as a student midwife.

Rachel spent four weeks working in maternity departments overseas, gaining hands-on experience in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, while learning to adapt in low-resource settings. Her time in Zanzibar strengthened her skills and gave her valuable insights into global maternity care.

With the support of her IC24 colleagues, Rachel was able to embrace this opportunity, and she’s now bringing her new skills, confidence, and compassion back into her role.
