Today we’re celebrating the incredible women who make IC24 what it is. From our frontline clinical teams to our support services and leadership, the dedication, compassion and expertise of the women across our organisation help deliver outstanding care to our patients and communities every day.

This year, our Gender Equality Colleague Resource Group has been encouraging important conversations across IC24, sharing stories of inspiring women who have helped shape healthcare and the legacy they have left for future generations.

They have also been bringing colleagues together in new ways, encouraging people to watch inspirational films and hosting discussions about the stories, challenges and achievements explored in these films.

As we lead up to International Women’s Day, colleagues across IC24 will be taking part in a range of discussions designed to celebrate and reflect on the impact of women in healthcare and beyond.

Our Gender Equality Colleague Resource Group is also inviting colleagues to watch the inspiring film Hidden Figures and join a discussion exploring the powerful themes from the story, including perseverance, equality and the importance of recognising contributions that have too often gone unseen.

The final Link 24 winner we’re shining a light on is Natasha, one of our fantastic Health Advisors and winner of the Care Award in Integrated Urgent Care.

Natasha was nominated for delivering consistently exceptional care and showing true compassion in every patient interaction. She builds rapport with callers effortlessly, creating trust and comfort in a way that genuinely reflects our values.

She is an outstanding role model for both new and experienced Health Advisors, setting the standard for professionalism, empathy, and patient-centred care every single day.

While we’ve only been able to share a few of our winners, every single one of them is incredible — living IC24’s values day in, day out. They deliver the very best care to patients while continually innovating how that care is provided.

With over 100 nominations, we couldn’t be prouder of our employees and the way they work together to make a difference.

The next amazing winner we’re shining a light on is Amie Hughes, who took home the award for Innovation in Integrated Urgent Care.

Receiving two nominations, Amie has been recognised for her dedication and the invaluable insight she brought to developing a new navigation training programme. By volunteering her knowledge and expertise, she helped ensure the programme was built far more quickly and seamlessly than would otherwise have been possible.

A fantastic example of innovation in action — thank you for making such a difference, Amie.

Our next winner we’re proud to highlight is Salma Aleem, our Care Award winner in Central Services

Receiving three nominations, Salma has been recognised for her dedication, compassion and energy in everything she does. She’s been the driving force behind key initiatives including our neurodiversity toolkit, cultural inclusion programmes, EDI newsletter, and gender equality actions — all focused on making sure everyone feels valued, supported and included at IC24.

Salma doesn’t just talk about respect — she brings it to life through practical support and by creating spaces where people feel safe to be themselves.

It was a pleasure for us to welcome colleagues from Devon Partnership NHS Trust to our Norfolk Contact Centre.

During the visit, we shared our experience as providers in developing our NHS 111 and Clinical Assessment Services, with a focus on ensuring patients with mental health care needs can access expert support in a timely and effective way.

The team were also introduced to our Unscheduled Care Coordination Hub. We are grateful to colleagues from East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust who took the time to demonstrate the work taking place in this area — live on shift — highlighting the strength of partnership working across the system.

We look forward to continuing to collaborate, support one another, and share ideas and innovation as we work together in this vital sector.
