Do you know the difference between an X-ray, CT scan and MRI scan?
X-Ray:
* Creates 2D images
* Used primarily to see bones and detect some cancers and Pneumonia
* Most common and widely available
* Use radiation to produce images
CT scan:
* Creates 3D images
* Used primarily to diagnose conditions in soft tissues and organs
* More powerful than an X-ray
* Takes a 360-degree image
MRI Scan:
* Creates 3D images
* Used primarily to scan the brain, spine, breasts, muscles, abdomen and neck
* Use a powerful magnet and radiowaves
* Creates cross section images
If you feel you need an MRI scan and cannot wait for one on the NHS, we can refer you privately for one in as little as 7 days, of course after a thorough assessment and explanation of the possible condition. You might not need one.
