Gentle Beginners Yoga
Gentle nurturing yoga is accessible for all, not matter how old you are or whatever your physical ability. Perfect for the stiffer body or complete beginners who may be anxious to join a more general beginners class. Emphasis will be on safe and correct alignment with support and individual attention delivered at a pace and ethos to suit you.
Beginners
The beginners classes are aimed at those who’ve never done yoga before or who are returning to yoga after a long break. Yoga is a practice of personal growth and transformation and we work to our individual physical and mental limitations. The class size is never more than 12 people.
Beginners to Intermediates
These classes are still suitable for beginners as modifications and variations are offered in some of the stronger postures, but this class will also suit those that aspire to work deeper in the practice.
Restore and Rebalance
Restorative yoga uses adaptations of classic yoga postures during which your body is passively supported using props. This will allow your body to stay in the poses for longer periods of time (5-15 minutes depending on the pose and the individual). The focus is less on stretching and strengthening and more on releasing tension and increasing circulation and flexibility. There is minimum intensity although it will include some gentle movements with emphasis on increasing strength and balance. A regular practice can improve the immune system and restore the body and mind. The restorative classes are ideal for those with limited flexibility, stiff and aching joints, suffering from stress or anxiety or recovering from illness or injury. Places are limited to keep the classes small.
Chair yoga in the workplace or residential home
The health issues caused by prolonged sitting, or inactivity in general is finally being recognised, but apart from the many health risks and there are too many to list here, we lose energy, we lose abdominal strength, we lose correct postural awareness and we age more rapidly.
The great thing about chair yoga is that it can be done anywhere and anytime, no mat required, no special clothing, (although loose clothing will make it easier)
Chair yoga is the perfect solution for office workers, or anyone who does not have time or can not move their bodies through a full range of motion.
We will work through a few simple functional and classical yoga poses that you will be able to incorporate into your daily lives.. and the benefits to your physical and mental health will start to show. you will start to feel better, sleep better, eat better, have more focus, energy and stamina.
