Join us for the OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Applied Reflexology for Integrated Medicine and CPD training

👏👏👏 Well done to this fabulous group of students who successfully completed not one, not two, but three practical assessments this weekend! 👏👏👏

PRAC 2 on Saturday involved meeting an entirely new client, taking a full consultation and creating a bespoke treatment plan for their client, treating them professionally and giving feedback. In short, everything a Level 5 reflexologist does in practice. And - they aced it!

And then on Sunday, they learned how to adapt treatments for male health and male fertility - carrying out treatments on each other to hone their new skills.

A fabulous weekend of student success and a lot of laughs along the way!

Well done everyone (and a big thank you to all the clients who came in to help on Saturday too!)

✨ To ensure your course is taught to the level it SAYS it is, look for a regulated course

✨ If a course is regulated, then you will be able to see who the Awarding Body is for that qualification. In our case with the Level 5 Diploma in Applied Reflexology for Integrated Medicine, it's OTHM.

✨ A regulated course in England is regulated by OFQUAL

W H Y I S T H I S S O I M P O R T A N T ?

✨ If a course is unregulated, then a provider can SAY they're teaching to Level 3 or to Level 5 - but nobody is actually checking that's true!

✨All regulated courses are internally and externally quality assured to check that teaching and assessing is at the right level, and comparable from one training centre to another

✨ If a course is unregulated, then your qualification at the end of your training will NOT be from an awarding body

✨ If graduating from an unregulated course, your qualification may not be recognised or give you the opportunities you were hoping for

So do your research if you're thinking of training in reflexology - not all courses are the same!

S P R I N G E Q U I N O X ~ the return of the light ✨

From a misty start this morning - see second 📸 - it's a glorious day here at our Sunfish studio and Kent academy training venue.

Those who know me well will know how happy I am to now have lambs in the field outside of my window, and the owl still calling in the tree nearby. It's so often the little things that have the deepest significance when life gets busy.

This morning's gentle yoga class included a gorgeous yoga nidra and visualisation of golden light, leaving me feeling almost as relaxed as the participants 😌

This afternoon I'm back to reflexology treatments to round off the week before heading into a restful weekend.

And making the most of every moment of sunlight as I move into the new season 💚🌞

W O R L D S L E E P D A Y 😴

Celebrate World Sleep Day by taking a nap if you can.

As reflexologists, we often support clients whose sleep patterns are unbalanced -sometimes because of stress, sometimes due to shift work, physical health challenges, caring responsibilities, or simply the sheer weight of everything we carry day to day.

Many clients find some relief from insomnia after reflexology. The gentle, targeted touch and carefully planned techniques play a huge part, but so does the simple act of having space to relax - without the expectation of sleep (although that often happens!)

We all know what it’s like to feel tired but not rested, and how elusive sleep can be when we finally try to settle at night.

Finding time to rest - during the day as well as in preparation for sleep - can make all the difference. And sometimes, a reflexology treatment is exactly the rest we need 😴💜

I absolutely LOVE spring! 🌱💚

I love the return of the light - at least on the brighter days😉- and the increase of energy that often accompanies this season.

I also love the way everything in nature is bursting into new life.

At our studio, the sheep are in the fields once again, and I'm hearing the owls calling even during the day which took me by surprise the first couple of times.

We're covering hand reflexology on our training this weekend 🙌

Just past the half-way point of their training, our students are ready to learn how to apply the knowledge they have gained from their Duopody treatments on the feet to a new micro area - the hands!

As for the feet, they will learn to treat all of the systems of the body on the hands, treating both hands together.

Last treatments before Christmas are complete (and hopefully for our students who are embarking on their first set of case studies too!) and I'm winding down for a lovely few days at home with my family 💜
