Slimming World is the most advanced Slimming organisation in the UK, it was founded in 1969 by Marg

Willesborough has two Slimming World Groups that run in this area. The Swan Centre, South Willesborough at 9am or 10.30am every Friday or Willesborough Junior School on a Saturday morning at 8am or 9.30am. Maria is your consultant for both of these groups who herself has lost weight with Slimming World so understands how challenging trying to lose weight and reaching your weight loss dreams can be. We would love to welcome you to our warm and friendly groups where support is offered in abundance to help you throughout your weight loss journey.

And if you do I am going to ask you to do one of 4 things because this isn't just any old leaflet....

These leaflets really do have the power to help someone change their life. 🥰

Because I know there are people out there who need help but they don't know where to turn and I want to reach as many of them as possible and let them know our groups are still here! These leaflets can help me to do that. But only if they don't go straight in the bin! 😉

And plus...spare a thought for me and my intrepid leafleters...leafleting is not an easy job...and it would be such a shame to see that hard work literally go to waste! 🙏

Meet Ginette who attends the 9am session each Friday 🥰

"The moment I saw that photo, I knew something had to change" – Ginette’s Slimming World success story

For Ginette, everything changed in September 2022 when she saw a photo her husband had taken. “I didn’t recognise the person staring back at me,” she says. “It was a wake-up call. That photo made me finally admit to myself that I needed to lose weight.”

Just five days later, Ginette walked through the doors of her local Slimming World group — and it was the beginning of a life-changing journey.

“The decision was reinforced when I was told that my BMI was too high for me to have much-needed dental surgery,” she explains. “That really focused my efforts — I knew I had to make my health a priority.”

With the support of her Consultant and group, Ginette lost 2.5 stone by early 2024 and was finally able to undergo surgery in April to repair an abdominal hernia that had troubled her for years. “All went well, and after just two weeks’ recuperation I was back to my daily routine — fitter than ever and completely pain-free,” she says.

Ginette didn’t stop there. By continuing to follow the Slimming World plan, she went on to lose a total of 3.5 stone and reach her dream target weight. “My confidence has improved so much. I feel fitter than I’ve ever been — and in June 2025, I even completed the Race for Life. That was such a proud moment for me.”

One of Ginette’s long-held dreams was to be able to shop for clothes in a size 14, and she’s now living that dream. Even better, her creative talent for sewing meant she could alter her favourite clothes as she slimmed down, so she never had to give up the pieces she loved most.

These days, Ginette keeps active by exercising twice a week at the Julie Rose Stadium, clocking up two hours of movement that helps her stay strong, healthy, and full of energy.

Ginette’s story is a powerful reminder that with determination, support, and a plan that truly works, nothing is out of reach.

No shame or judgement in my Slimmingworld groups...we're all human and that's not a bad thing.

We help and support each other to make any changes we choose to make while celebrating anything we're proud of along the way be that a weight loss or a non scale victory. They all count for us!
