🔍 Dermatoscope Close-Up – Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) 🔍

The diagnosis: Basal cell carcinoma – the most common form of skin cancer. BCCs often appear as a slow-growing, pearly or waxy bump, sometimes with visible blood vessels or ulceration. They very rarely spread to other parts of the body, but early treatment prevents local damage and gives excellent outcomes.

This one will be removed and sent for confirmation. Follow for more dermatoscope case insights! 👀

🔍 A Gentle Reminder: Not All Moles Are Cancerous 🔍

Most moles are completely benign and stay that way for life. Changes in size, shape, colour or symptoms are the key things to watch for – but the majority of everyday moles are harmless.

Seeing a dermatology specialist for any doubt still gives the clearest answer and peace of mind.

A date for your diary…….

With the sailing season approaching and the awful weather at present we can’t wait to see the ☀️ again. However these days we must all be aware of the dangers posed by too much exposure to the sun.

With that in mind, we are delighted to be working with The Private Medical Group and will be hosting a free skin cancer check on 28th February.

Open to everyone

Early detection can save lives.

🔍 Dermatoscope Close-Up – Irregularly Pigmented Mole 🔍

Watch us examine this irregularly pigmented mole.

Irregular pigmentation (uneven colour distribution within the same mole) is one of the classic warning signs that dermatologists assess carefully using the ABCDE criteria. When the pattern looks asymmetrical or chaotic, excision (surgical removal + histology) is often recommended to exclude melanoma or other concerning changes.

Early action = best outcome. Follow for more dermatoscope case insights.
