What's the difference between Chiropody and Podiatry?
At Podplus we call all foot care maintenance Chiropody (diabetic feet, corns callus nail cutting verruca fungal nail etc), anything where you have a pain or problem that needs diagnosis and we call Podiatry (all diagnosis of pain, including exercise gait analysis insoles ingrown toenail surgery etc)

The profession used to be known as chiropody when the qualification was historically a diploma in chiropody, but now all newly qualified Podiatrists have done an Honours degree in Podiatric Medicine.
Now you will find all Podiatrists are trained to degree level and are Allied Health Professionals, they also cover all aspects of Chiropody. In the UK, podiatry is a regulated profession. All podiatrists must be Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered.
