Welcome to the team, Michele Turrell!

We’re delighted to welcome Michele to the team at Full Circle Food Project as our new Cookery Coordinator. 👩‍🍳

Michele brings a wealth of catering experience, alongside a real passion for helping people gain confidence in the kitchen. She’s enthusiastic about cooking from scratch, making the most of leftovers, and creating fun, engaging cooking experiences for everyone involved.

We’ve got some family cooking sessions coming up, and we can’t wait for Michele to get stuck in and share her skills with our community.

Today we had a visit from The Deaf Centre Family Hub and the wonderfully inspiring . She gave a really interesting and informative talk on deaf awareness, taught us all some basic BSL and tips on how to be more inclusive.

A tip for us all:
When you are repeating words to someone hard of hearing, try not to repeat them louder or slower. Words have certain lip movements, and these change if exaggerated. Be patient and repeat it at the same speed, but looking at the person.

This Saturday, we have two exciting events going on!

Join us for a fun-filled children's session between 1pm-2:30pm, where we'll decorate plant pots and plant delicious herbs to grow at home! 🎨🪴

We also have a Community Plant Sale between 11:30am-2:30pm. Come down to browse and buy a variety of locally grown herbs, vegetables and flowers, perfect for your garden, windowsill or allotment. 🍅

We are excited to support nature-led community planting in Cambois and invite residents , existing allotment holders local businesses and community groups to come along to our drop-in sessions to hear more and get involved.

Working with town and county council we have identified the grassed area known at the Community Orchard (behind the allotments) as a place to make a start.

This builds on our work at Full Circle Food project to date which has been focused on our Growing Zone site in Hirst Park, Ashington.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to get involved in planting and maintainence, even an hour or so would make a difference!
No experience necessary.
