Let’s talk about your happiness for a moment.
“One of the greatest regrets in life is being what others want you to be, rather than being yourself.”

And I want you to sit with that gently.

If you have to shrink, silence yourself, or become a version of you that doesn’t feel true…is that really happiness?

In session, I’d ask you:
“When you’re with them, do you feel more like yourself — or less?”
“Do you feel accepted, or do you feel like you’re performing?”
“Is this relationship expanding your life, or slowly draining your spark?”

A healthy relationship allows you to be fully you — messy, honest, growing, imperfect.

It doesn’t ask you to fit into someone else’s idea of who you should be.

If being with them pulls you away from yourself…
then maybe the real question isn’t “Are they happy with me?”
but “Am I still happy with me when I’m with them?”

Your happiness matters.
And you deserve a relationship where you don’t have to disappear to keep the peace.

Two very different experiences that can feel confusing when you’re in the middle of them.

Toxic love often comes with intensity — the highs feel incredible, the lows feel unbearable.

It keeps you guessing, doubting, overthinking, and working harder than you should.

Actual love feels different. It’s calmer. More consistent.

Less about trying to “earn” affection and more about feeling safe, valued, and understood.

Toxic love looks like:
Walking on eggshells
Mixed signals
Blame, guilt, or emotional swings
Feeling drained, anxious, or “not enough”

Actual love looks like:
Clear communication
Safety and respect
Shared effort
Feeling emotionally supported and at peace.

If love constantly hurts, confuses, or exhausts you — it’s not love, it’s survival.

Lasting relationships are built on the everyday behaviours that strengthen connection:

Communication
Respect
Shared values
Emotional safety
Mutual effort
Repair after conflict
Choosing each other again and again

Love is the spark — but these are the foundations.

Without them, even deep love can feel unstable.
With them, love becomes something you can grow, not just feel.

A relationship should be built on trust and mutual respect, an equal partnership is what really sustains healthy relationships, builds a connection that feels supportive, secure, and grounded — not just passionate.
