1 November GROUPS: 11AM Inner Child Art Workshop (Room1) with Issy Davies
Connect with your inner-child Art workshop – Issy invites you to pick up your crayons, pencils, or anything that makes a mark, and draw with the freedom you had as a child!  As we age, the freedom of creativity is often replaced by expectations - we are taught that art means we need to follow rules, master techniques, and aim for perfection for it to be considered valuable. What once was playful and instinctive becomes overshadowed by theories, techniques, and the pressure to create ‘serious’ art.
This workshop shifts away from these ideas. Instead Issy will lead you through a series of playful drawing exercises to help you to loosen up your creative practice and find value in the simple joy of making art for art’s sake. You will be encouraged to tune into yourself and enjoy the expressive process of making marks to connect with your current self and return to the carefree creativity of youth. Leave your inhibitions behind and open your mind to make Art like no one’s watching.
Come as you are - art supplies will be available, though you’re welcome to bring your favourite materials if you wish. You don’t need any prior art experience to take part - just a willingness to explore and create! Open minds, spontaneity and mess are encouraged!

1 November GROUPS at 2pm & 3pm: Connect with Clay - make a candle holder with Cami Burn at our Open Day. Clay is wonderfully mindful and grounding and taking part in a creative group activity may well reward you with a renewed sense of connection to self and others. Besides, participating in creative activities has been shown to have wider wellbeing benefits, like increase in happiness, relaxation, hand-eye coordination, improved sensory skills, potential for improved self-worth through a sense of achievement.

At the end of the hour together you can take your clay home to dry (sorry, no glazing or kiln facilities available) and use as a memento of this gift of time to yourself.

1 November GROUP 4pm SOUNDBATH with Lin Crane as a beautiful closing ceremony. During the Sound bath participants lie down on yoga mats (can also be seated) while a variety of high frequency instruments, including bowls and stationary gongs, are played. Some instruments are passed directly over but all the sound frequencies pass over and through participants’ energy field. Best to wear loose clothes and bring mat / blanket / pillow
Sound Bath is a very good process of “shedding old to make room for the new”.crane

1 November GROUP 1:30pm TRE with Gemma. TRE or Tension and trauma release exercise is a series of movements that works to activate our innate ability to shake or vibrate, a reflex which is common to all mammals. This tremor mechanism assists the body to release held patterns muscular tension, that have been stored in the body after stressful or traumatic events. This can change the messages sent to the brain from the body, helping to calm down the nervous system and encourage the body to return to a state of balance.
By connecting with your body’s innate tremoring mechanism you can unwind long-held tension patterns in the body as well as recent tensions. Gemma gently leads you through the practice. Over time TRE has shown through research to improve stress resilience. Bring your body back to safety and balance by learning this valuable yet simple practice.
Please wear comfortable trousers/shorts you can move in and if possible bring a blanket/thin cushion/yoga mat.
