Our Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is just a week away, and our supporters are showing incredible dedication in their training đź’Ş

Rhiannon has been preparing through daily walks and weekend hikes:

“At the start of March, I hiked Snowdon in the snow. Before the challenge, I’m taking on Jacob’s Ladder and Kinder Scout in the Peak District, followed by Helvellyn in the Lake District the following weekend.”

“My motivation for taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is rooted in the belief that we are capable of hard things.”

As a cognitive behavioural therapist, Rhiannon sees a powerful connection between physical challenges and the real-life obstacles people face every day, making this journey even more meaningful đź’š

For anyone also preparing, she shares this word of encouragement:

“Take it one step at a time, pace yourself, and remember why you signed up. It might be tough along the way but incredibly rewarding, and knowing you’re supporting such an important cause makes every mile worth it.”

Good luck to Rhiannon and everyone taking on the challenge.

Three Peaks training is in full flow đź’Ş

From sunny walks at Rivington Pike and Burrs Country Park to muddy evening hikes in Egerton, Siobhan, Charlotte, Leigh and Sophie are putting in the miles in preparation for this year’s challenge.

Siobhan explains: “Charlotte, Leigh and I are preparing through completing weekly walks, while Sophie is building her stamina through running.”

Their motivation comes from a shared passion for supporting mental health services and making a difference to those who need it most đź’š

“Here at the Older Adult Home Intervention Team, we strive to provide timely intervention, minimise distress, reduce risk, and provide treatment in a person’s own home where it is safe to do so. We believe in the value of this approach and are proud of the difference we make.”

Funds raised will support "well-being initiatives for the team, improving carer engagement and exploring sensory stimulation for our patients, for example, creating sensory boxes to contribute to emotional regulation." Siobhan explains.

We love seeing our supporters training and encouraging one another along the way.

If you’re preparing for the Three Peaks too, keep going, every step gets you closer to that finish line! 💪

Training for the Yorkshire Three Peaks continues

Louise and her colleague, Marion, are getting the steps in ahead of this year's Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, taking on mini training walks together.

"Weather was not on our side at the top but views were amazing." Louise shared.

For Marion, who just turned 60, this challenge is about more than just reaching the summit; it’s a chance to push themselves, celebrate a milestone, and make a difference within their service 💚

"We have pretty much worked alongside each other for the last 15 years and have seen how the extra funding makes a difference through charitable funds. We have had pool tables, leisure activities and recently a theatre show been funded for us which is amazing support for our guys but opens up to other services."

We love seeing our supporters training and sharing what motivates them along the way. Keep going team!đź’Ş
