✈️ Skylink Success at Manchester Airport
- Recent Project
✅ The Overview
Recently, our team was called in to conduct intrusive surveys on the Skylink bridge roof at Manchester Airport, helping to establish the roof’s composition ahead of a major refurbishment.
⚠️ The Challenge
With live passenger traffic, strict time constraints and a busy operational footprint, scaffolding was simply not an option.
The survey data we captured also had to be recorded in a precise and easily interpreted format so that the architect could immediately begin their work.
🔎 Our Response
We combined a range of access methods including MEWP, Spider MEWP, rope access & work restraint, to safely reach and record the required areas without causing disruption.
Our bespoke digital recording systems meant that the information could be handed over quickly, clearly and in a format that was ready to use.
All of this was achieved while working closely with the main contractor and airport management, ensuring the highest standards of safety throughout.
🎖️ The Outcome
The surveys were completed smoothly and efficiently, with minimal impact on the day-to-day running of the airport.
By avoiding scaffolding, the client benefited from a faster turnaround and reduced costs, while still getting the precise technical information they needed.
Another great project in a challenging environment completed safely and professionally by our Structures Team! 👏
