Keeping Manchester Glowing🫧🧽
📍 Arndale Centre.

This week, our team has been keeping Manchester glowing, completing specialist window cleaning works above the new XF Gyms location at the Arndale Centre.
Our small team of highly specialised rope access operatives have been working through the cold nights to ensure disruption to the general public and trading operations was kept to an absolute minimum.

We’ve been a trusted partner of the Arndale Centre for more than three decades, supporting the ongoing maintenance and presentation of one of the UK’s most prominent retail complexes.

Through our regular maintenance works across multiple properties within the site, we help ensure consistently positive customer experiences while providing reliable technical & operational support to both facilities and contracts managers.

VA in 2016 🕰️

Social media has been full of throwbacks to 2016, with people sharing what they were up to a decade ago. So we thought we’d join in too😅

Back then, we were...

➡️ Repairing the chimney stacks at Manchester Town Hall.

➡️ Restoring the roof at the Chaplaincy Centre in Lancaster University.

➡️ Conducting inspection & repair works on telecoms across several UK sites, including BT Head Offices, London.

➡️ Inspecting & repairing a retaining wall below a railway for Network Rail & Balfour Beatty in Wylam, Northumberland.

If that doesn’t demonstrate the variety of VA, we’re not sure what does!

Ian joined Vertical Access in 1998 as a sub-contractor, where he quickly progressed to a site-supervisor and then project manager.

Ian is one of our most experienced and knowledgeable rope access experts. His dedication to health & safety has helped VA complete hundreds of successful projects across the UK.

We’re closing up for Christmas to enjoy a well-earned break 🎄

Festive edition 🎀🎅🎄

As we head deeper into the run-up to Christmas, we thought we’d take a look back at some of our most festive projects over the years, including where it all began👀

1️⃣ (1988) Our very first awarded contract at Vertical Access Ltd: fixing a decorative Christmas ribbon around the Barclays Building in London. You don’t get a VA throwback much further than that.

2️⃣ (2002-2008) For years, we were fortunate enough to fit the old (and slightly terrifying) Father Christmas inflatable on Manchester Town Hall. It was always a great project that everyone loved working on.

3️⃣ (2023) Installing festive banners at Old Trafford for our old friends at Manchester United. (We've installed banners across Old Trafford's grounds for over 30 years!)

A lot has changed over the years, but one thing hasn’t. We’re still proud to be helping iconic buildings and venues get into the Christmas spirit😄

We hope all of our followers, clients, partners, suppliers & staff have a great, well-earned time off this Christmas.
