At Widnes Crematorium yesterday, we had the privilege of supporting a family who chose to do things a little differently.

Rather than a traditional hearse, the family felt that using our non-ceremonial vehicle was a more fitting and personal choice for their loved one. Every farewell is unique, and it is always our honour to help families create a service that truly reflects the person they are remembering.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Hewlett, who peacefully passed away on 11th February 2026.

Thomas was a much-loved family member and friend to many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His kindness, warmth and presence touched many lives, and his memory will be cherished always.

A service to celebrate Thomas’s life will be held on 19th March 2026 at 12:00pm at St Mark’s Church, followed by committal at Wigan Crematorium at 1:00pm.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and pay their respects.

Our thoughts remain with Thomas’s loved ones during this difficult time.

Another busy night and morning for some of our teams taking loved ones into care, conducting transfers of cremated remains with visits to Greenacres Rainford and hospitals within the North West. Although were best known for our homes in St Helens and Wigan, our staff go above and beyond, working 24/7 covering the North West of England, dedicated to providing a superlative service under local authority instruction and assisting families at their time of need 🖤
