📰 “Viewers are shocked and all saying the same thing…”
Sound familiar? 👀
We see headlines like this every day now — designed to grab attention, spark outrage, bring out the keyboard warrior within us, or keep us scrolling. It’s called clickbait — and while it might seem harmless, constant exposure to exaggerated or negative content can take a toll on our mental health.
As the nights draw in and we spend more time indoors (and online), it’s easy to fall into the trap of “doomscrolling” or reacting to every piece of rage bait we see.
Here are a few ways to protect your wellbeing this winter:
💡 Pause before you click — ask yourself if it’s worth your attention.
📱 Set limits — try “screen-free” hours, especially before bed.
🌙 Do something grounding — read, stretch, journal, do some yoga/pilates or go for a short walk.
🤝 Connect offline — a cuppa and a chat can do far more good than another comment thread.
🧠 Curate your feed — follow accounts that inform, inspire, or make you smile (we inspire to be one of these said accounts wherever we can).
The online world isn’t going anywhere — but how we engage with it can make a huge difference to how we feel. 💙💚🍂
