While some of our lovely residents were off enjoying a minibus trip to Birdland 🐦, back at home we were celebrating not one, but TWO very special birthdays! 🎉🎂
A huge Happy 98th Birthday to the wonderful Val! 💖 Her favourite thing in the world is sitting in the sunshine, and we were so happy she got her birthday wish — soaking up the sun, surrounded by her daughter and friends. It was a beautiful moment to share ☀️🌸

And the celebrations don’t stop there… a big Happy 81st Birthday to Gillian! 🎈 She spent her special day with family — just the way birthdays should be 💕

Our minibus trip to Tropical Bird Land yesterday was awesome. With beautiful sunshine, cheerful colourful birds all around, and a picnic together( and a surprise guest ...a little yellow bird who wouldn't leave 😅) , it was a day full of smiles, laughter, fresh air, and special moments 🌿💛

Days like these remind us how important it is to enjoy the little things and create joyful memories together.

🚌🐦 Bracebridge Court Trip to Tropical Bird Land 🌿☀️

We enjoyed a wonderful day out on our minibus trip to Tropical Bird Land, we spotted a wide range of birds. Some even copied us talking and laughing, which had us all laughing along! 😊
We enjoyed our first picnic of the year in the sunshine, which made it feel extra special. 🌞
We were also joined by a surprise guest—a little yellow bird who kept trying to drink our tea and eat our biscuits! Luckily, we had some bird food to give instead. 🐤
We also saw meerkats, super cute 😍 wallabies, goats and capybaras ( and more!) .
It was a productive trip too as Fern, one of the care assistants who came along on the trip has almost conquered her bird phobia 🐦❤️💪🏼 and it was also a chance to welcome our new bus driver, Simon, who said hes enjoying his first few weeks and that everyone at all the region 6 homes have made him feel very welcome.

A really amazing day had by all! 💛

​We had some very special help with our recruitment today at Bracebridge Court - Runwood Homes Senior Living. Our wonderful Resident Ambassadors joined us to interview candidates for our Care Assistant vacancy!

​Who better to help us find the perfect addition to our team than the people who live here? It’s been a lovely morning filled with great conversation and insight.

​As a huge thank you for their hard work and expertise, we’re treating our ambassadors to a special celebratory lunch! 🥂🍽️

Our lovely residents at Bracebridge Court were busy getting ready for teatime yesterday 🫖🍰
There was plenty of fun beforehand with some dancing to get everyone moving and smiling, while others enjoyed a relaxed time playing dominoes and working on puzzles 🧩
A big thank you to our wonderful residents who helped lay the tables so beautifully with cutlery, plates, and napkins — teamwork at its best! 💛
Encouraging residents to get involved in everyday tasks like this helps maintain independence, builds confidence, and gives a real sense of purpose and belonging. It also creates meaningful moments of connection and pride in contributing to their home 🏡❤️

Happy 83rd birthday to John for yesterday! 🎉

Here at Bracebridge Court we celebrated Johns special day with a wonderful party surrounded by family and friends, and it truly was a special day. Cakes, music and laughter filled the room . John gave a beautiful and heartfelt speech, thanking everyone for being there, but most touching of all was his message to his wife—showing such love and appreciation for everything she does.
It was an emotional and memorable occasion, full of warmth, gratitude, and love. A day to treasure🎂🥳🎉❤️

🐎🎉 Bracebridge Court Goes to Cheltenham! 🎉🐎

Today we brought the excitement of the Cheltenham races right here to Bracebridge Court, and what an afternoon it turned out to be!
Staff – including management 😉– and some residents! got involved as we kicked things off with some virtual horse racing, placing our bets with a bit of “fake money” 😉. The competition was friendly but very real, with everyone cheering on their chosen horses!
But the fun didn’t stop there… we then got creative and made our own hobby horses, before taking to the corridors for our very own races!( safely of course👍) Residents and staff lined the route, cheering and laughing as our jockeys galloped past.
There was so much laughter, team spirit, and wonderful energy throughout the home. Days like this are what it’s all about – bringing joy, creating memories, and sharing lots of smiles together.

Well done to everyone who took part and helped make it such a fantastic afternoon! 🐎👏
