Planning a farewell shouldn’t feel like a burden.
Let us take the weight off your
shoulders, guiding you every step of the way, so you can focus on what matters most.

We pride ourselves on holding a space for you to say a real heartfelt goodbye that feels right for you and your family.

Sharing a story, a hobby, a colour, or even a much-needed moment of laughter, we are passionate about helping you create the perfect goodbye for your loved one.

Whether that’s a direct cremation, lovingly handled by our dedicated family team or a full service, or something beautifully in between every farewell can be as personal as you wish it to be.

We warmly encourage you to speak with us or with any SAIF funeral director if you are outside our area, for guidance and support.

Our beautiful 1964 Rolls-Royce hearse has been out on the road a great deal recently and it never fails to leave an impression.

Over 60 years since she was first built and still carries the same timeless elegance and presence that define true craftsmanship.

Recently, she had the honour of carrying a true gentleman with a lifelong passion for classic cars, a fitting final journey.

Gracefully preserving tradition while paying tribute to a life well lived. ❤️

When Mary shared her wishes, she made it clear she wanted a fast final journey - even joking about getting a speeding ticket along the way.

Our team were proud to make that happen for her. (Not a real one of course)

It was kept as a quiet, personal touch and as the hearse made its way into the crematorium the smiles on her family’s faces said everything.

It’s these personal details that can make a farewell truly special ❤️

Mother’s Day means many different things to many different people.

For some of us, we’re lucky enough to still hug our mums, hear their voice and thank them for everything they do. For others, we carry them in our hearts and memories wishing we could have just one more conversation, one more laugh, one more hug.

But whether our mums are beside us today or watching over us, their love never really leaves. It lives in the lessons they taught us, the strength they gave us, the values they passed down and the memories that still make us smile.

A mother’s love doesn’t disappear with time or distance. It stays with us in the little things - the way we care for others, the words we hear in our heads when we need guidance, the warmth we feel when we remember them.

Today we celebrate all mums - the ones we can hold, and the ones we hold in our hearts.

Happy Mother’s Day. ❤️

Paula was in her early 50s when she bought her campervan Stan, shortly after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. While many might have slowed down, Paula chose to live her life to the full.

With her beloved husband Martin by her side, she travelled all over the UK. To festivals, concerts, seaside stops, countryside escapes, making memories wherever the road would take them. When she was well enough she continued to work remotely as a photographer, capturing beauty through her lens while living life on her own terms.

On her final journey, she was driven with love by her husband and her son - surrounded as always by the people who meant the most to her.

In true Paula style, she left one final request: as everyone left the chapel, they were to dance to Morecambe and Wise. A perfect farewell full of warmth, humour, and joy. Because that was Paula. Even in goodbye, she wanted smiles, laughter, and a reminder to keep living.

A life lived bravely. A woman deeply loved. And a spirit that will forever travel on.

Since our last post we are very pleased with the positive response and growing popularity of the Meldor Suite at our Nuneaton branch. The room has been used for both funeral services and funeral wakes.

It’s becoming more and more popular and we have been honoured to be able to offer support to so many families and thank you to everyone who has placed their trust in us.

If you would like more information about our services, please don’t hesitate to contact us - we’re always here to help.

Today is a special day if you’re born and raised in Atherstone, as today marks the 826th Ball Game - a tradition that has carried on for centuries, with even wars unable to stop it. Wishing everybody the very best of luck and to keep the game in good spirits. This tradition holds a very special place in our hearts, especially as David and Nigel had the honour of being asked to throw the ball out back in 2010, and long may it continue.

Good Evening everyone,

We’ve received an awful lot of lovely requests to hire out our prom cars in support of local charities – thank you so much for all the messages and interest, it really means a lot.

We’re just working through everything and checking availability, and we’ll be in touch with families by mid next week to confirm whether we’re able to help.

Thanks again for your patience and for supporting such great causes ❤️

This year, M G Evans & Sons are excited to be offering something completely new.

We’ll be providing our limousine for students attending prom free of charge. There is no hire fee at all - instead, we’re simply asking that the family makes a donation to a local charity.

Every penny raised will go directly to a good cause in our community.

If you (or someone you know) are attending prom and would like to use this service while also supporting a local charity, please get in touch with us for more information - Matthew@mgevans.co.uk

As this is our first year doing this, availability will be limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.

Let’s make prom night special and support a great cause at the same time 💙

Appreciation Post for Richard Gladders, who to most people is simply known as Budgie.

One night in Atherstone, he asked Matthew and Nigel if he could help out on the occasional funeral here and there… and 45 hours a week and three years later, he’s practically become full-time, helping during the day and out of hours, seven days a week.

He’s the first one in most mornings, usually a good hour before we even start, and he takes massive pride in making sure the cars leave the unit absolutely gleaming.

He’s got to be one of the most popular person we’ve ever come across. Wherever we go, Budgie seems to know somebody — whether it’s from his pit days, football, or socialising. It’s rare we attend a funeral where he doesn’t recognise a familiar face.

He’s a fantastic chap with a heart of gold, who would help anybody without hesitation, and he truly goes above and beyond the call of duty to support people during the most difficult times of their lives.

Thank you, Budgie, for everything you do.
