Who am I and what do I do

Due to the enquiries I’m getting for my first 12 week programme, and new followers, I thought I’d do a quick intro

I’m Sarah, I have 3 daughters and I’m based in the UK

I like to hike, run and instruct cycle classes (all passions!!)

My love of all things health and fitness led me to becoming a Level 4 PT specialising in obesity and diabetes, and to qualifying as a nutrition coach via The BTN Academy (not groupon)

So what do I do, and what could I do for you..

I work with you to reach your goals
I help you set them
I help you overcome obstacles through intense support and find a path which works for you

Goals such as fat/inch/weight loss or muscle gain

The key to success is having the tools and support to execute your plan, that’s where I come in

What don’t I do..

I don’t write meal plans, there’s plenty of those you can easily pull off the internet
I don’t tell you to cut out whole food groups
I don’t let you struggle by yourself between check ins
I don’t try to help people with things out of my scope of practice, but I’d help you find someone else to fit your needs, trainers/coaches who claim they can help with any goal should be walked away from, they’re in it for the buck not the service

I get it

Groups

Crash diets

Meal replacements

Over exercising

Way under eating

Cutting out whole food groups

The odd magical supplement

On a loop, a repeated frustrated loop

Sure you make ‘progress’ (you drop 5-10lbs and quite quickly)

Then it’s over, you’ve finished the plan or you’ve lost motivation

Back to square one, or worse, a few lbs more

Repeat repeat repeat

Yet you still believe these things work, it must be you, because you lost weight, you just couldn’t stick with it

It’s not you

You’re just falling into the diet industry trappings

If you want to make changes which stick, which help you carry on progressing, which change your mindset…..we can do that, and I can help you get there

9 times out of 10 it’s to look ‘better’ and feel more comfortable in your clothes

So what relevance does the scale weight have on those?

Not a lot

A lot of people have an arbitrary weight goal in mind when what they really want is to look better naked, truth

So, if you’re happy with your reflection after you have done some work and made some changes would it matter if the scale says you havnt reached that mystical goal number? Of course not

It’s composition and inches you are looking to change

They’re the things which make you look and feel different

If you can’t get the goal out of your head then maybe it’s your relationship with the scale you need to be questioning 💜

Rather than increasing the hours you’re working out, start menu planning and meal prepping and keep your exercise the same

Exercise has a thousands benefits but weight/fat loss is extremely low on that list

Small subtle changes arnt sexy are they

They’re not dramatic

Or LIFE CHANGING enough

Actually they are

Because with small consistent changes comes the snowball effect

You know

You’re making Mr Snowman’s jolly tummy and you only start out with a snowball size of snow in your hand

But you keep adding to it until you can roll it around on the ground

You’re adding a bit everytime and your snowman is growing

And that small ball you started with? It’s still there, at the core

And you wouldn’t have gotten to where you are without it

Same happens with adopting healthy habits around weightloss….they grow and the impact gets bigger and bigger

The parties have started

Trees are going up

Mince pies have been on sale since October 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’d say don’t stress over your diet at Christmas, it’s just one day afterall

But it isn’t anymore is it, it’s about 4 weeks of parties, lunches, Christmas drinks, family gatherings, sweet gifts everywhere you look

Apparently at Christmas we need to eat allllllll the food

But it doesn’t have to be this way

You don’t have to conform

No I’m not saying stay in and eat salad like a miserable grinch . You don’t have to that either

Decide what you want to achieve over this coming month

That’s right, you can still achieve, even when it feels like the odds are stacked against you. You just need to make a decision and stick to it

Still want to say ‘f**k it it’s Christmas’ and carry on? Of course that is also an option and also valid, you may find yourself needing to put more work in in January but make that conscious decision instead of letting Christmas pressure take control

Do your actions align with your goals?

Want to lose weight but continue to eat the same amount of food?

Want to get fitter but never do any exercise?

It’s a bit like wanting to decorate your room but watching Netflix in it instead

It ain’t happening

And you know it

When they say it’s the thought that counts this isn’t what they mean

You don’t need to make huge changes, and nor should you, small incremental changes which are planned out will get you there

Stop thinking
Start doing

“What’s the most important thing when it comes to fat loss?”

Calories?

Having a plan?

Exercise?

Food timing?

Tracking?

Macro splits?

Protein?

Non exercise activity?

Non of the above

They can all play a part for sure, but if your head isn’t in the right place? You won’t be successful for long

That’s why I put mindset top of the list

With mindset in the right place you can tackle habit change, you can be consistent and you can pick yourself back up when there’s a bump in the road
