Instruments in the Autoclave ready for tomorrow’s patients 👣

Your safety is my highest priority. I follow strict infection control procedures to ensure every treatment is carried out in a clean, safe, and clinically controlled environment.

Instrument Sterilisation Process

Any reusable instruments undergo a comprehensive, multi-stage sterilisation process:

1. Pre-Cleaning

Instruments are rinsed and placed in an ultrasonic cleaner to remove debris and microscopic particles.

2. Inspection

Each instrument is carefully checked for cleanliness and integrity.

3. Steam Sterilisation (Autoclave)

I use a professional medical autoclave, similar to those used in hospitals and dental clinics.

Instruments are:
• Sealed in sterile pouches
• Sterilised using high-pressure steam at controlled temperatures
• Processed in validated sterilisation cycles

This method eliminates bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores.

4. Safe Storage

Sterilised instruments remain sealed until opened at your appointment.

These procedures are routine and reflect my commitment to your safety.

Podiatry and Joint Replacement (Knee and Hip)

🔹 Pre-surgery Podiatric care.

Before joint replacement, foot health is crucial to support balance and walking. Podiatrist can:

- Address skin and nail issues (eg corns, callus, fungal nails) that may become infected post surgery.

- Ensure biomechanical alignment, and identify any foot issues that may worsen after surgery.

🔹 Post-surgery Podiatric care.

- After surgery, mobility changes, and foot care may become more difficult, especially for elderly patients and those living alone. Podiatrist help by:

- Providing regular toe nail trimming and callus care, especially if you cannot bend or reach your feet.

- Checking for gait changes, that may lead to new foot or ankle pain.

- Prescribing orthotics to support new walking patterns and reduce strain on the new joint.
