We welcomed back the fabulous Jack Darcy yesterday as we once again sang along to some classic swing and rock n roll hits.
Jack returned by residents request, something that is so valuable to our activities planning. Our residents opinion counts!
We look forward to another favourite on May 26th with the Barry Tone Elvis Experience @ 2pm.

We are a part of the Veteran Friendly Framework and a part of this is visiting places of historical interest. After a risk assessment carried our by our Wellbeing team,we realised the walk at the Desert Rats Memorial near Thetford was restrictive for our veterans wheelchairs so we brought the location to our home. With the magic of YouTube,we were able to see the area and experience a virtual tour of the former Desert Rats training ground.

🌱 We couldn’t wait for National Gardening Week… so Brooklyn House Nursing Home got started early! 🌼

Our green-fingered residents have already been busy planting, potting and adding a splash of colour to the garden and it’s safe to say things are looking blooming lovely 🌸

There’s something so special about getting hands in the soil, sharing a few laughs and watching everything come to life (with a well-earned tea break in between, of course ☕😉).

This is just the beginning… we’re ready for a full week of fresh air, flowers and feel-good moments across our homes 💚

Care home residents pre-empt National Gardening Week by taking part in a session to choose and plant flowers in pots, to be used to make the outside area cheerful

Happy National Tea Day! We all love a good cuppa and our teapots are always flowing here at Brooklyn House no matter what the time is. Today was no different apart from we plucked up courage to try some different teas including green tea,a range of herbal and fruit teas. Of course a traditional brew was available too accompanied by a favourite snack. Put your feet up and enjoy.

Spring is in the air and we've been busy during our gardening club session. It was great fun potting up some seasonal plants to adorn our outside space.

We have had a magical Easter full of fun. Our crafts included Easter Bonnet making, colouring and baking spring nests. We held an Easter Bingo session, raffle and had a good old singalong.

The high tea trolley offered residents requests of traditional Simnal cake,mini batteries and homemade fudge.

We even went out into the community to engage in live pub music to see our friend Jack.

We enjoyed a sunny Bank Holiday in our local pubs garden. Some of our residents wished to turn out to support one of our visiting entertainers,Jack Darcy.

The afternoon was lovely as we enjoyed some rare Easter sunshine and a cold drink.

Jack was delighted to see us and sang through three sets of songs including hits by the Rat Pack,Elvis,Johnny Cash and some 90s alternative.

Jack is back at Brooklyn on 29th April at 2pm.

April Fools fun today with our crazy hair day! We enjoyed lots of laughter as we donned wigs and hair crayons to bring smiles to everyone's faces.

We welcomed our regular singer songwriter Nick Stephenson back yesterday. With his usual lively set,Nick performed hits made famous by The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Elvis and Queen. Everyone was toe tapping, singing and dancing along. We had a fabulous time. There was one big question asked... "When are you back with us Nick?"

We use music as a huge part of activities and therapy at Brooklyn House. As well as a weekly karaoke, we have visiting entertainment monthly. For more details please ask a member of our dedicated team.
