This month’s edition of SCVO's Third Force News is one of the toughest but most accurate reads we have seen in a while. It lays bare the pressures facing charities across Scotland.

πŸ‘‰ https://tfn.scot/magazine/december-20/read

We want to be open with you because you are part of our family. The truth is that The Oxygen Works is feeling these pressures too. Funding is shrinking at the same time demand for our therapies and services are rising. Every day we see how much our services mean to people living with neurological and complex health conditions but behind the scenes we are facing really tough decisions.

None of this takes away from our commitment to you. We are here to support you and we remain determined to do everything we can. But we cannot hide the fact that the road ahead is challenging and the uncertainty is real.

If you value what we do we are asking for your support today.

Share our message. Tell others about the difference we make. If you are able consider donating or fundraising. Even the smallest action helps strengthen a service that so many people across the Highlands rely on.

Thank you for standing with us. Your trust and kindness mean more than you know.

THIS WEEKS WORDS!

I received this great review from "M", a client at my Inverness clinic, earlier this week.

"I was recommended Dave following injury to both knees causing me extreme pain and impacting on everything in my life – including a job requiring a lot of walking/fitness and an impending lambing at the home farm. Dave’s treatments got me through lambing, and we then concentrated on longer term rehab, which I admit felt beyond reach. The combination of massage treatments, (kinesio) taping, advise and honesty as well as encouragement that things would get better have come to fruition. I can now walk well and properly and even some run steps, no longer use painkillers and I’m doing everything I need and want to do. An extremely happy customer and I cannot recommend Dave highly enough."
Thanks for these kind words, "M".

If you're experiencing similar chronic conditions or have a recent, acute, injury, get in touch for assessment and treatment either at The Oxygen Works Inverness or Cairngorm Clinic Aviemore.

THIS WEEKS WORDS

I received this nice testimonial yesterday.

"I was looking for somebody local to help me with a painful injury. Reading all the descriptions and qualifications of the different therapists in the area, I felt Dave's was the most appealing and appropriate one.
The waiting time for an appointment was short.
Dave carefully listened to my account, did a thorough assessment and then explained in detail what he thought the problem was and how to treat it. By this time I felt very comfortable with Dave, which I think is important for a positive outcome.
Dave gave me good advice of what to do or not to do, to speed up recovery, without being patronising or using the words "..at your age.."
He did an excellent job, and recovery was faster than forecast.
I'm very happy to recommend Dave to anybody (looking for a therapist)"

S.M., Kingussie.

This week's words!

Maintaining the same position for long hours or performing repeated movements several days a week, every week as part of a work schedule, can create as much chronic immobility and pain as sudden injuries and accidents cause acute pain. This could be by working at a computer, or supermarket checkout desk, driving a car, van, tractor or train. Performing repetitive tasks such as operating machinery, or manual tasks such as in construction or engineering trades can be just as problematic.
Whether caused by work, sport or accident, get in touch for a full assessment and an appropriate treatment and rehabilitation programme.
As the north of Scotland's only Sports Therapist and Bodymaster Method Practitioner(TM), I'm well qualified to help you overcome your injuries, aches, pains, and immobility issues.
