CERVICAL SCREENING

https://www.nhs.uk/tests-and-treatments/cervical-screening/

We strongly recommend cervical screening every 5 years to everyone with a cervix between the ages of 25 and 64. Most eligible patients should receive three invites but please get in touch if you think you might be due.

If you're a trans man or non-binary and have a cervix, we advise you to speak to us about confirming you are getting invitations routinely.

Cervical screening (smears) are carried out by female nurses and doctors in our practice and we will do our best to make the whole procedure as comfortable as possible.

Please get in touch if you want to discuss further - it could save your life.

Find out about the NHS cervical screening programme, including when it's offered, how to book, what happens at your appointment, getting your results and how it can help protect you from cervical cancer.

POWER OUTAGE IN DISPENSARY

EDIT: AS OF 10.30am 3/9/25 THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE RESOLVED SO BACK TO BUISNESS AS NORMAL! Thanks for your understanding.

We currently have no power to dispensary so are unable to issue new prescriptions. If your medication is already bagged up we can still give it to you but unfortunately there will be a delay in new or very recent prescription requests. We will have to rely on our friends at Morton's or other local pharmacies if urgent prescriptions are required.

We are working as quickly as we can to resolve the issue and as always we appreciate your kindness and patience. Thank you.

FLU & COVID CLINICS

Appointments are now available at the surgery to book for flu and covid vaccines.

You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:

- are aged 65 or over
- have certain long-term health conditions
- are pregnant
- live in a care home
- are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer's allowance
- live with someone who has a weakened immune system

Frontline health and social care workers can also get a flu vaccine through their employer.

You should also have a COVID vaccine if you are aged 75 or over or have a severely weakened immune system.

Appointments will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout October. Please call reception on 01297 32126 to book.

Apologies for the noise and disruption at the front of our building whilst a medication dispensing machine is installed. Access to reception will only be from the Silverleigh side for the duration of the works.

Once installed, this machine will allow patients to collect their medications 24/7 rather than rely on the dispensary opening hours.
