" I bet no-one will like my poem! "

No-One Likes Me
By Megan (young person)

No-one likes me, or that’s how it feels,
Like I’m invisible, stuck spinning wheels.
Scrolling through lives that seem so bright,
While I’m just here, fading out of sight.

I try to speak, but no-one cares,
A joke ignored, blank stares to spare.
Their group chats buzz, I’m not on the list,
Another day of being missed.

But maybe they don’t really know,
The fire in me that starts to grow.
It’s quiet now, just a tiny flame,
But it’ll burn stronger—remember my name.

Still, it’s tough to walk this alone,
Feeling unseen, unheard, unknown.
That’s why there’s CYP Open Voice—we’re here,
To listen, to help, to make things clear.

We’ll help you find the words to say,
Support you through each challenging day.
You’re not alone—just reach out and see,
Together, we’ll shape who you’re meant to be.

Because in the shadows, you’ll find your ground,
With strength that’s waiting to be unbound.
Yeah, “no-one likes me” may feel true,

Here's a poem, written by a 16-year-old child with autism:

My Mind Does Not Make Sense

My mind does not make sense to you,
It leaps where feet can't follow through.
Words twist, scatter, swirl, then stall,
I try to catch them, but they fall.

The world feels loud, sharp, and bright,
A storm of sound, a flash of light.
I wish you'd see the things I see—
The beauty in complexity.

Your rules and rhythms feel like chains,
They choke my thoughts, they bind my veins.
But in my chaos, wonders bloom,
A silent song in crowded rooms.

I’m sixteen now, my path unclear,
Autistic in a world austere.
But CYP has held my hand,
Helped me grow, helped me stand.

Through art and words, I’ve found my way,
To paint the night, to shape the day.
Their care has lifted shadows near,
Their kindness calmed the noise I fear.

I speak in puzzles, shapes, and hues,
A symphony you might confuse.
But if you pause, and if you stay,
You'll hear the music my heart plays.

My mind does not make sense, it's true,
But maybe sense is overrated too.
For in this maze, I've come to find,
A different brilliance in my mind.
