Buying skincare on Amazon? Read this first ✋🏼 👀
Look, I get it.
Next-day delivery is addictive.
You run out of your favourite cleanser, your moisturiser is basically air, and Amazon feels like the quickest fix.
But here’s the part nobody tells you:
Amazon is one of the biggest hotspots for counterfeit, expired or tampered skincare - especially from third-party sellers.
And the packaging often looks identical to the real thing.
So before you put something new on your face… here’s what you need to know 👇🏻
If you must buy skincare from Amazon, use these safety checks:
1️⃣ Check who it’s “Sold by”
Only trust listings that say “Sold by Amazon” or “Sold by [Brand Name]”.
Anything else = riskier.
2️⃣ Click the brand name under the title
It should take you to the official Amazon storefront.
If it looks odd, inconsistent or has random products… avoid.
3️⃣ Look for batch codes + expiry dates
Authentic skincare brands always show these clearly.
Counterfeits rarely do.
4️⃣ Beware of big discounts
If it’s too cheap, trust me, there’s a reason.
Good skincare doesn’t magically drop 60% overnight.
5️⃣ When in doubt, buy direct
For active ingredients, medical-grade products, or anything you’re putting on your face regularly…
your safest bet is buying directly from the brand or a qualified medical practitioner.
Your skin deserves products that are safe, authentic, and actually work, not a sneaky knockoff hiding behind a shiny Prime badge.
