In March this year, I received a diagnosis that finally made so many things click into place: ADHD.
As a counsellor, I’ve always been passionate about understanding the “why” beneath behaviour, the patterns that shape us, and the stories we carry. Receiving this diagnosis gave me a new story for myself — one that explains not only the struggles, but also the creativity, intensity, sensitivity, and resilience I’ve always had.
Working in private practice, I meet many neurodivergent clients who have spent years feeling “too much” or “not enough.” My own journey has deepened my empathy and sharpened my instinct for what neurodivergent-affirming support truly looks like.
That’s why I’ve now begun formal training in neurodivergent coaching. This will sit alongside my counselling work, giving me practical tools to help clients navigate executive functioning, self-esteem, motivation, regulation, and identity in ways that honour their neurotype.
I’m excited about this next chapter
I’m proud to bring both professional training and lived experience into the work I do.
And I hope it encourages others to explore their own brains with curiosity, compassion, and permission to be exactly who they are. 💛
