Yesterday, one of our residents, Margaret, invited her family to Aston Manor for a cupcake decorating session. Everyone had a fantastic time together, sharing special family moments and plenty of laughter. Once the cupcakes were finished, one of Margaret’s grandchildren kindly gifted their cupcake to fellow resident Sheila, a truly beautiful and heart-warming moment. 🧁🧡

Our December Star of the Month is Ellie, our Activities Coordinator here at Aston Manor. Ellie’s hard work every day, along with the creativity she brought to our Christmas at Aston Manor event, truly encapsulates the warmth, energy and dedication she brings to the home. Her commitment to creating meaningful, joyful moments for residents makes a real difference, and we’re incredibly grateful to have her as part of the team. Well done Ellie! 🧡

Recently, residents and staff at Aston Manor were treated to a wonderful musical performance from the St Mary’s Church Choir. There were plenty of smiles as residents sang along, tapping their toes to the nostalgic songs. 🎶🧡

Over the weekend, staff and residents at Aston Manor came together to celebrate Filipino Day, a special occasion to learn more about Filipino culture, cuisine and history. To truly mark the day, our wonderful kitchen team prepared a freshly cooked Filipino feast 🍽️, bringing everyone together to share great food, stories and smiles 🧡✨

Join us for a fun Easter celebration featuring an Easter egg hunt, Easter arts and crafts, themed snacks and Easter films in our cinema. Visitors are welcome to tour the home and meet our friendly team.

🍽️ Fish & Chip Friday
(Last Friday of every month, 12:00pm – 2:30pm)
Free fish and chips for local residents aged 55+. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon with delicious food, friendly conversation, and a welcoming space to meet new people. Spaces are limited, so please get in touch to reserve your spot.

🚨 Blue Light Breakfast
(First Tuesday of every month, 7:30am – 8:30am)
A complimentary warm breakfast for our emergency services. Whether you’re finishing a night shift or starting a busy day, we offer a calm, friendly space to refuel and feel appreciated.

💛 Dementia Friends Café
(First Thursday of every month, 9:30am – 11:00am)
A supportive space for carers, families and individuals affected by dementia. Share experiences, access helpful resources and connect with others who understand. Light refreshments provided.

🎬 Memory Matinee
(First Friday of every month, 10:00am – 11:30am)
A cosy cinema morning enjoying a classic film in our comfortable cinema room, with memories and conversations sparked along the way.

This afternoon, residents and their families came together at Aston Manor to enjoy some New Year’s Eve celebrations 🎉 The group played party games, shared stories and enjoyed a selection of canapés. It was lovely to see everyone marking the New Year together and sharing such a special moment. 💥

Over the festive period, we were delighted to host residents Leila and Cecile along with their family for a beautiful Christmas dinner. The group enjoyed a freshly prepared meal in our private dining room, surrounded by festive decorations. There is nothing quite like seeing families come together to celebrate these special moments with us at Aston Manor. 🧡🎅

With Christmas just one sleep away, Aston Manor Home Manager Rex has been busy wrapping and giving out presents to every member of the team.

With all the gifts placed under the tree, staff gathered together for a small moment of festive gift-giving — a simple thank you for the care, kindness and hard work they bring to Aston Manor every single day. 🎄🧡

This weekend, we were delighted to welcome families and members of the local community to our “Christmas at Aston Manor” celebration 🎄🧡

The home was filled with festive cheer as over 100 visitors joined us for a day of seasonal fun. Guests enjoyed Christmas games and gingerbread decorating, relaxed with festive films in our cinema, and soaked up the atmosphere with Christmas music playing throughout the home. There were also plenty of hot drinks and sweet treats to enjoy along the way.

Santa made a special appearance, bringing smiles and photo opportunities for visitors of all ages 🎅✨ Live music from the Ellesborough Silver Band added an extra festive touch, filling the home with familiar Christmas favourites and creating lots of sing-along moments.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so special — it was a wonderful way to share some festive cheer together.🧡

🎄 Final call! “Christmas at Aston Manor” is tomorrow 🎄

We’re holding our “Christmas at Aston Manor” event tomorrow (Saturday 20th), from 10am–2pm, and there’s lots planned throughout the day 🎅 Enjoy festive Christmas music, gingerbread decorating, a range of festive activities, Christmas films playing in our cinema, and a special visit from Santa. There’ll also be plenty of snacks and refreshments to enjoy along the way 🧡

It’s a free event, everyone is welcome, and it’s a lovely chance to pop in, experience the home for yourself, and soak up some festive cheer. We’d absolutely love to see you there ✨

Today, the team had the honour of welcoming a new resident, Cecile, into Aston Manor. This was a particularly special arrival as Cecile is the twin sister of our resident, Leila. The team had a welcome party waiting at the door with flowers and gifts to greet her. Leila was also there waiting to welcome her sister and exchange birthday gifts, making it a very moving moment for everyone involved. 🧡

Cecile's daughter was touched by the arrival, saying, "This place is amazing, you guys are the best." Moments like these highlight the team's commitment to reuniting families and ensuring our residents can continue sharing special experiences together. It was a wonderful day for both sisters and the Aston Manor community. 🧡
