🙌 who has a Donkey!! 😃

Donkeys are masters of doing more with less energy!

It’s a brilliant survival trait but it also means they can be more prone to developing Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS).
Because donkeys need fewer calories, rich diets, limited exercise, or being fed like working ponies can quickly tip the balance.
The good news? With the right care, it’s very manageable. A controlled diet and gentle increase in exercise can make a big difference. Swapping unrestricted grazing for low-calorie hay or straw helps reduce calorie intake, while specifically formulated feeds keep everything balanced without excess calories but ensuring essential nutrient supply.
