35 years ago, we made a quiet promise - that no one should face the end of life alone. Help us keep it.

We are currently supporting 1,147 local people with a terminal illness either at home, in the hospice or in a care home. By 2040, the number of people aged 65 and over in Kent is expected to rise by a third, which means demand for our services is growing faster than current support can cover.

We rely on the kindness of people like you to make the care we provide possible. Help us mark this moment. Will you consider supporting our anniversary appeal today?

We're on our way to £35,000!

£4,479 raised so far, and we're just getting started.

We're aiming to raise £35,000 in just 35 days - from 27 April to 31 May - and every donation helps us keep caring for patients and families here in Kent.

To everyone who has donated already, thank you!
You remind us every day of the difference your support makes.

A huge thank you to Martin Kennett, who ran this year's London Marathon for Heart of Kent Hospice - using his own place to do it 💚

Martin has raised an incredible £1,523 (including Gift Aid) for hospice care. Every penny will help us continue providing care and support to patients and families across Kent.

As we celebrate 35 years of hospice care, the support of people like Martin is what makes it all possible.

We're so grateful, Martin. Thank you.

Meet Ivor Knight - our Bluebell Walk legend.

Ivor has taken part in and fundraised for every single Bluebell Walk since the very first one in 1990. This Sunday, he'll be cutting the ribbon alongside the Mayor to open this year's event - and as we celebrate 35 years of hospice care, there's no one more fitting to do it.

There's still time to be part of it! Sign up now for a beautiful 6 mile walk along the North Downs near Harrietsham, Sunday 3 May.

Join us in welcoming our new Compassionate Neighbours to the network!

They had a wonderful time during their training - finding it insightful, engaging, and a great opportunity to connect with one another through meaningful conversations. It’s been lovely to see those bonds already beginning to form.

They’re now looking forward to being matched with someone who could use a friendly face and a regular chat. We’re so proud to have them as part of our community ✨

If you're interested in becoming one of our Compassionate Neighbours, sign up!

This week we were pleased to welcome our corporate partner, Advo, who spent two days volunteering to help paint our IPU rooms.

Their support has made a real difference, helping us create a more comfortable and welcoming space for patients and families.

As shared by the Advo team:
“Volunteering our time to paint at Heart of Kent Hospice was incredibly meaningful and something the team genuinely enjoyed. It reminded us of the importance of giving back and supporting spaces that bring comfort, dignity, and care to so many. We’re proud to have played a small part in making a difference.”

A huge thank you to everyone involved for your time, energy, and commitment - it truly means a lot to us and those we care for!

Our Story

We were founded in 1991 and a year later celebrated our official opening with HRH Diana Princess of Wales. Since then we have expanded to offer patient and family support, a range of occupational and complimentary therapies, and a drop in centre, as well as our inpatient facilities.
