This October I was very lucky to have been sponsored to attend the Trauma and Orthopaedic Conference in Cambridge. Not only did I take a day to explore the amazing city but I also learnt some of the newest and upcoming methods of treatment and management of certain common disorders. For instance, new insights were shared regarding the clavicle’s biomechanics, leading to different approaches and considerations when treating the shoulder and rib complex. However, I took great interest and knowledge from the lectures regarding elbow trauma, shoulder instability, hip dysfunction prehabilitation and rehabilitation (with specific insights into hip dysplasia and femoral acetabular impingement), and ACL injuries. The sharing of the new information regarding their surgical treatment methods has lead to advancements in management and rehabilitation methods. These have helped me to develop my skills and knowledge to provide a more effective treatment for my patients.
