Reflection on this show, very well presented, crazy standard, stage was best one I've seen and stood on yet!
Couple of things that ground my gears tho were.....
We as an athlete spend a small fortune in travel, hotels, food etc and so do our close family that choose to come on this journey also, so when you get there and your told, as an athlete, that you can't watch the show without paying for it (both separate tickets for both days I might add) that really does leave a sour taste in your mouth! It's always been standard practice, across all federations, that when your competing in a show, you get full access of that show!
The other issue that I saw with both eyes and heard quite clearly was that this show being a pro qualifier with pro cards up for grabs, meant that you had to do a regional show in your own country (unless said country, like Ireland, didn't have regionals)
so when a very irritated, disgruntled French man turns up spitting feathers cos he (no one else's fault) didn't bother his arse to do his regional, the show promoter, has a short argument (infront of all of us in the queue waiting to register) and tells him.... OK it's your fault, not mine but if you pay 300 euros we will let you compete anyway!
This absolutely f**kn defeats the purpose of anyone having to do any regional show and spending extra money out their own pocket in doing so! Just to line the IFBB/NPC committees pockets as per!
