Starting today (Friday 3 October), patients who have been waiting over 26 weeks for an inpatient or day case procedure will receive a text message from the National Elective Coordination Unit (NECU).

The message will come from mobile number 07860 039092 and will include a link to a short survey. Patients will be asked:

- If they still require their appointment
- To confirm their identity
- If someone else is completing the survey on your behalf, they must provide your details during the process.

If you're on a waiting list for any of these services within NHS Ayrshire & Arran, please do not ignore this message.

This week (15th to 19th September) is Falls Awareness Week.

Have you had a fall in the last 12 months? 1 in 3 people in Scotland aged over 65 have had a fall in the last year. You can reduce the risk of falls by taking action today!

Tams Brig Surgery has an Occupational Therapy Team that can carry out a free wellbeing review to help reduce the risk of falls.

All GP Practices, most dentists and community pharmacies have public holiday closures on Friday 19 September and Monday 22 September. Some community pharmacies will remain open during this period and can answer questions on choosing and using the right medicine and provide advice on treating everyday ailments. NHS 24 also has a number of pharmacists who are able to answer medicine and pharmacy-related questions over the telephone on 111.
