My Yoga Place

My Yoga Place Friendly, relaxed and no nonsense Yoga and meditation classes. Please see this page for directions and parking options.

We offer online and in-person classes at 70 Kyle Street, Ayr, KA7 1RZ in a safe, relaxed and friendly space. The classes draw from various Yoga traditions and focus on connecting mindful, dynamic movement, static postures, and conscious breath to improve mental well-being, self-confidence, strength, flexibility, and range of motion. We also offer group meditation sessions in the Zen Buddhist tradition. Our guiding principle is that a regular Yoga practice should support sustainable well-being. We foster a non-competitive, judgment-free environment and welcome all levels of ability and physical fitness.

Honestly, what a welcome we’ve had from Angela, Lewis and wee Sunny From panicking a couple of weeks ago, as we had to vacate the Kyle Street studio while a leak is repaired, to finding ourselves in a dream spot. Plants, flowers, coffee, cake and lovely people. The icing on the cake is wee Sunny making sure everyone gets a warm welcome when they arrive. I think we’ll be sad to leave. We’re so grateful to them for helping us out and being so good with us. They have book clubs and workshops with flower arranging and other creative pursuits. Or simply go in for coffee and plants (indoor and outdoor ones for sale) and Sunny of course ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

🏃‍♀️ Movement Workshop
🏊 Exercising Confidently with Pain, Injury, or Long-Term Conditions
🚴‍♀️ Sunday 26 April | 2–4pm

Any of the following questions resonate?

• Can I exercise with this knee/back/shoulder issue?
• How do I adapt movements so they work for my body?
• What’s the difference between discomfort and doing damage?
• Why do some movements flare things up while others help?
• How do I get back into exercise without making things worse?

Many people find themselves in a gap between treatment and everyday exercise. They’re no longer in rehabilitation, but standard classes still don’t feel accessible or appropriate.

This 2-hour workshop with a yoga teacher and a physiotherapist is designed to sit in that space.

Together we’ll explore how movement can be adapted rather than avoided, address common fears about pain and damage, and help you build the confidence to make your own choices about movement and exercise.

This is not treatment or diagnosis. It’s a supportive space to learn, ask questions, and move with greater clarity.

Movement Workshop is calm, inclusive, and focused on understanding rather than pushing. No prior fitness level is required, and all movement is optional.

Spaces will be limited.

💞💞We are so chuffed - we have 2 spaces to give away to our Movement Workshop on Sunday 26th April from 2pm - 4pm at My Yoga Place, Ayr!!! 💓💓

👋 If you would like the spaces please message us 👋

Chuffed because people are so kind and that a medical professional heard about our workshop and saw its value.

Please share far and wide and with anyone that you think might benefit from coming to this workshop to get their confidence back with exercise.

This 2-hour workshop offers a supportive, education-led space to explore exercise and movement alongside a yoga teacher and a physiotherapist, for people who want to move but feel unsure, cautious, or lacking confidence.

You might find this helpful if you’re asking yourself questions like:

• Can I exercise with this knee, back, or joint issue?
• How do I adapt movements so they work for my body?
• What’s the difference between discomfort and doing damage?
• Why do some movements flare things up while others help?
• How do I get back into exercise without making things worse?

Across the session, a yoga teacher and a physiotherapist will:

• Address common fears and misunderstandings around pain, discomfort, and structural change
• Explore how movement can be adapted rather than avoided
• Create space for questions, discussion, and shared understanding
• Empower participants to build confidence in making their own choices about movement and sensations

This is not a treatment session, diagnosis, or exercise prescription.
It’s an educational, supportive space to explore movement with clarity rather than fear.

You’ll leave with:

• Greater confidence around exercise and movement
• A clearer framework for making decisions about how and when to move
• Practical ideas you can apply in classes, at home, or in the gym
• Reassurance that movement doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing

Movement Workshop is calm, inclusive, and focused on understanding rather than pushing. No prior fitness level is required, and all movement is optional.

Spaces will be limited so there is time for discussion and questions.

What I love about a good Pilates class is the very specific burning in very specific places. No matter how strong I think I am, it’s always hard/effective.

Other people are loving that Ashley makes sure you’re holding your body in the best way to get maximum benefit and that she goes round the class giving feedback. She’s keeping class numbers small so that she can continue to do that for everyone. I love being confidently led through a wide variety of exercises and how every discipline- yoga/Pilates/Strength works you out in a different way.

Join Ashley on Saturday mornings from 9am - 10am.

Next Sunday Chill is now live for booking

Sunday 22nd March
4.30pm - 6.30pm
£20

2 hours of long, slow-held postures. Options to practice in a restorative or yin way (in restorative, we're looking for the golden standard for relaxation, in yin we're looking for full stretches that have a lot of sensation).

An excellent session to relieve tension, increase flexibility and practice deep relaxation.

Yoga is on this Sunday!!
Join me for a session at the Kittykatcafe this Sunday at 6.30pm.

Expect lots of shenanigans with the kitties who absolutely love getting involved with the yoga mats. A great way to experience the cat cafe with lots of interaction and a little bit of stretching!

Why should we do Malasana Squat? To keep your mobility as you age.

We speak to a lot of experts about how to move better and feel stronger – and there’s one simple daily movement they keep coming back to for improving strength and flexibility.

A mobility and stretching coach breaks down what it is, how to do it and how to work it into your routine.
