"When the soul is silent, the body speaks."

Psychosomatic pain is real.
Many people experience neck pain. However, the causes of this pain can be different, and often, people do not wonder what exactly causes them discomfort—psychosomatics or physical illness? The most common options for resolving the issue are that this has already happened, it will go away on its own, rub it with your hands or/and rub in the anaesthetic cream, and turn your neck in different directions, as if kneading it. Here are some tips for neck pain.
Studies show that up to 30–50% of cases of chronic neck pain are related to emotional and psychological factors, such as:

*Chronic stress
* Suppressed emotions
*Anxiety and depression
* Feeling of internal pressure or responsibility

People who feel overwhelmed, silently carrying tension, or struggling with emotional expression often experience constant tension in their necks and shoulders — even when scans show nothing "wrong."

How does it work?

When you are stressed, your body activates a fight-or-flight response by tightening your neck and shoulder muscles. Over time, this tension becomes the "new normal" of the body - it causes pain, stiffness, and fatigue.
If physical treatments do not help, listen deeper.
When your pain gets worse with emotionally exhausting, or comes « nowhere», it might be your body speaking what your mind has not yet processed.
Your neck is a bridge between mind and body.
Tension in the neck is more than a physical problem — it is symbolic.
It connects your thoughts (head) with your feelings (body).
When it is tight, communication between the two is blocked.

Common signs:
• Headache
• Restriction of movement
• Feeling emotionally "stuck"

The neck pain - what does your body want to tell you?
The neck is more than just a part of your spine — it is a symbol of flexibility and perspective. The neck symbolises flexibility — the ability to see things from different perspectives and turn in new directions, both physically and emotionally.
According to Liz Bourbeau, neck pain can signal emotional resistance: difficulty making decisions, fear of change, or holding on too tightly to one point of view.
This can reflect a deep inner tension - one that weighs you down imperceptibly.
Stress, emotional overload and pressure to "keep it all together" often settle in the neck and shoulders.
The body says: stop. The soul whispers: move.

Take a moment to listen — not only to your body, but also to your thoughts.

Ask yourself:
• Where in my life do I feel stuck?
• What perspective am I resisting?
• What (or whom) am I trying to let go?

What can help?
Give yourself space — both in body and mind.
Let your neck breathe again.
Give your mind a break.
Allow yourself to soften.

Gentle stretching, mindful breathing, and regular massages can help relieve tension and restore a sense of flexibility, not just in your neck but throughout your body.

Self-awareness, emotional release and gentle support in reconnecting with your body.

Massage is a powerful way to relieve this pain, not only physically, but also emotionally.
This helps to release accumulated tension, improves blood circulation and gives space for clarity and inner peace.
A gentle neck massage restores not only mobility but also inner clarity.
It helps you "connect the dots" within yourself.
Massage is more than relaxation. It is a gentle way to reconnect with your body, release tension, and let go of what you no longer need physically and emotionally.
Trust your body. It always knows when it is time to let go.

At OLShaX, I do not just work with the body - I listen to it.

Neck Pain: You’re Not Alone — Here’s What the UK Data Says 📊

Neck pain is one of the most common complaints today, but how prevalent is it? Recent statistics from the UK provide valuable insights:

1. Up to 40% of adults experience neck pain each year.
2. Chronic neck pain (lasting over three months) affects millions; approximately 43% of UK adults live with chronic pain in general.
3. Women are more affected: 38% of women compared to 30% of men report experiencing chronic pain.
4. The age group most affected is between 45 and 64 years.

Why Does Your Neck Hurt?
The #1 Cause Might Surprise You 🌟

Neck pain is widespread, but what is the main reason behind it?

❗️The Most Common Cause: Muscle Tension.

Neck muscles often become overworked due to:

- Long hours spent at a desk or driving
- Poor posture, especially related to phone use ("text neck")
- Stress and anxiety, which can cause tension in the shoulders and neck
- Lack of movement or, conversely, overexertion

Other common causes of neck pain include:

- Muscle spasms and inflammation
- Degenerative changes in the cervical spine
- Injuries, such as whiplash from car accidents
- Disc herniation
- Incorrect sleeping positions

Even when no major physical issues are found, emotional stress can intensify the perception of pain in the neck area.

Can Emotional Stress Cause Neck Pain? Absolutely — and More Often Than You Think.

If you’ve been struggling with neck pain without a clear medical reason, the root cause may not be physical; it could be emotional.

How does psychosomatic pain work? Find out in the next post.❇️❇️❇️

Where does our tension live?

A map of body and emotions

Have you ever wondered why your neck feels tight when you’re anxious? Or why your stomach aches when you’re stressed?

Our body stores emotions.
Tension doesn’t just “happen” — it settles in muscles we overuse emotionally:
• Neck and shoulders — responsibility, pressure
• Jaw — unspoken anger
• Stomach — anxiety, fear
• Lower back — insecurity, financial stress
• Chest — sadness, grief

Massage helps the body release what it no longer needs — both physically and emotionally.

It’s not just touch. It’s healing through presence.

Which area holds your tension the most? Neck, jaw, or back?
Comment below — or give your body the reset it deserves.
