Feeling overwhelmed or low lately? At Sisu Therapy we spot early signs so you can feel better sooner. Common checkpoints: racing thoughts or constant worry (try grounding and breathing exercises), avoidance of activities (behavioural activation), sleep or appetite changes (sleep routine work), and persistent negative self-talk (thought records). These are practical CBT skills I help you learn—rooted in my clinical CBT training—to help shorten recovery time. If you’re in Ayrshire and wondering whether to get support, we are based in 4 Carrick Street, Ayr, UK or visit https://wix.to/0Mb3CM5 to learn more. You don’t have to do this alone. Ready to talk? 😊

Airport run on a Friday afternoon. It’s amazing how much less stressful things feel when you’re rested and have no time constraints.

Just saw this and thought I’d share- just in case you need to see any of these today. 😊

This week, my daughter had her last official day of school. 🎓

Proud doesn’t quite cover it. It’s one of those moments as a parent where your heart feels full, and a little bit shoogly all at once. Where does the time go?!

Watching her reach this milestone reminded me how much growth isn’t about perfection… it’s about showing up. Through stress, self-doubt, friendship dramas, exam pressure, and all the “what ifs” that can feel so loud when you’re young.

And honestly? The same applies to us as adults.

In CBT we talk a lot about progress over perfection. About learning to tolerate uncertainty. About taking small, meaningful steps even when your mind is busy telling you you’re not ready.

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder:
Growth happens quietly, gradually… and then all at once.

To anyone in the middle of their own “figuring it out” phase — keep going. You’re building something, even on the days it doesn’t feel like it 💛

Send me a wee message if you’d like some company on your journey. Two heads are better than one. 😊

Feeling overwhelmed by setbacks? Try three simple Sisu-inspired rituals you can start today — to shift how you respond and feel. 1) Micro-commitments: pick a tiny, doable action (make a cup of tea, step outside for 2 minutes). CBT links: break tasks into manageable steps and reframe “I can’t” into “I can try this small thing.” Real outcome: reduced avoidance and steadier mood. 2) Anchor breathing with purpose: inhale for 4, exhale for 6 while naming one helpful thought (e.g., “I am learning”). CBT links: notice automatic thoughts and replace unhelpful ones with balanced alternatives. Real outcome: calmer nerves and clearer decisions. 3) Values check: pause and ask “Does this action match what matters to me?” CBT links: behavioural experiments that test choices against values. Real outcome: more meaningful actions and improved motivation. These are low-barrier, evidence-informed steps I use with clients across Ayrshire, blending CBT with an integrative approach.
