Healing is not linear, it goes in cycles. Sometimes we may find ourselves in the same place, and wonder why we are here again. It means that we have something else to learn from this. Don't think this is a failure, it is just another opportunity to clear more unwanted stuff, in order to move forward into a better space. Be kind to yourself 💜

Sometimes being here and now, with whatever is happening is where you need to be. It's easy to fall back into our stories, but they are part of our past that has made us who we are. By being in the moment we can engage with ourselves fully, even if it sometimes feels messy. Everything changes, and the next moment may feel clearer, giving us more perspective.

Improving the Cancer Journey Link Worker

Improving the Cancer Journey was launched in the Western Isles in January 2025 , based at WICCI, to help support people affected by cancer. This programme which is funded by Macmillan Cancer Support and the Scottish Government and delivered in Partnership with WICCI and NHS Western Isles, aims to support those who are diagnosed with cancer to navigate that time through the use of a Holistic Needs Assessment tool, which will identify the main issues that they may need support with.

The Link Worker is a valued part of the cancer care team providing essential non clinical care and support to people affected by cancer.

The Link Worker will be a WICCI employee and will be based from the WICCI offices in Stornoway. The job will be 21 hours per week.

This role is funded until October 2027 with the expectation of further funding after that.
