🏔 Simon’s Taking on the National Three Peaks – to Keep Let’s Talk Going 💬

Please support him if you can!

One of our co-founders, Simon Dalley, has (recklessly!) agreed to take on the National Three Peaks Challenge with less than two weeks’ notice. All to raise money for The Let’s Talk Project.

That means climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in just 24 hours… with a tight hip, two dodgy knees and a new pair of walking boots that still aren’t broken in (after he left the old ones out in the rain 🙃).

Let’s Talk is a small, volunteer-run emotional support and listening service, offering people a safe, confidential space to talk when things feel tough. We’ve supported hundreds of people over the years, but right now, we’re at risk of not being able to carry on.

Simon’s aiming to raise £800 to help cover:

* Our room rent at the ABD Community Centre
* Our phone line, so people can reach us when they need someone to talk to
* Our annual insurance, which helps keep the service running safely

It costs around £2,500 a year to run Let’s Talk. Every donation truly makes a difference.

If you’ve ever needed someone to talk to or believe services like ours should always be there for others, please support him and share this post so we can get as many people supporting him as possible!

A huge thank you post!

Thank you Francesca Dean & Wendy Howarth for working hard together to raise a huge amount of £960, to split between The Let's Talk Project & Lancashire Spitfires Powerchair FC

This hard work included several weeks of fundraising including tombolas, a book sale and a day of Fran being in store, and talking to customers about the services both of us provide.

This money will go to supporting people in Rossendale, and beyond, struggling with their mental health.

Wendy, is the Haslingden Tesco Community Champion, and is often helping raise money for local causes. Please keep an eye out for her good & important work in trying to improve the community.

Fran is a trailblazer of raising awareness of multiple causes, and will be soon leading a Talking Support & Social group for people living with Cerebral Palsy, or for those who loved someone living with Cerebral Palsy. Please keep a look out on this page for more information coming soon!

Thank you!
