Lightwater Surgery has an opportunity available for a Document Workflow coordinator. The successful candidate will play a critical role in accurately processing clinical letters and assigning medical codes to patient diagnoses, treatments, and procedures. This position requires careful attention to detail and the ability to interpret medical documentation.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate quick, reliable and safe decision making and the ability to prioritise and organise their workload. An eye for detail and a methodical approach when using standard protocols and guidelines along with excellent IT skills are needed.
25 hours per week.

You may have seen on your visits to the surgery, our blood pressure pod which is open to all patients to check your own blood pressure. If you do use this please hand your *named* reading to surgery staff.

The local pharmacies are also available for blood pressure checks.

This week marks blood pressure awareness week.

Right now, 5 million UK adults aged 18-64 may have undiagnosed high blood pressure – increasing their risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease. Many don’t even know it. That’s why getting a simple blood pressure check at home could literally be a lifesaver.

High blood pressure is known as the “silent killer” – no symptoms, just risk. But knowing your numbers gives you the power to act – whether that’s eating less salt, being more active, or starting medication if needed. Age doesn’t matter. Everyone should Know Their Numbers!

⚠️ At 3pm this Sunday, 7 September, *everyone in the UK with a compatible mobile phone or tablet* will get an Emergency Alert.

Compatible devices will:

📱 make a loud siren-like sound
📱 vibrate
📱 show a message on screen

Don’t worry – this is just a *test*. You won’t need to do anything when it happens.

Emergency Alerts help keep people safe and are used to warn if there is a danger to life nearby, including extreme weather.

Regular testing helps to make sure the system is working properly should it need to be used in a real-life emergency.

Due to high demand and low stock levels this year, our flu clinics are full.

If you are eligible please speak with your local pharmacy.

Lightwater Pharmacy vaccination clinics are starting on the 1st October, these can be booked via NHS app or the national booking service from 1st September (see below link)

Windlesham Pharmacy are open for walk ins only from October from 11am

School age children will be offered their vaccines at school.

Pre school aged children, we will make contact and send invites shortly

Emergency alert test
The UK Emergency Alert Test will take place on Sunday 7 September 2025 at 3pm.
Survivors of domestic abuse, using a hidden or emergency phone, should be aware that a loud siren will sound on all phones, even on silent. To stay safe:
· switch off or use airplane mode on hidden devices
· share this message with anyone at risk
· safeguarding professionals should inform clients in advance
