We’ve had such a lovely week, full of smiles and good company. It was all topped off perfectly celebrating Sylvia’s birthday, made even more special with the wonderful Hillary Dennis Martin singing for us.

Love was very much in the air at the Old Vicarage today as we celebrated Valentine’s Day in proper style.

Our dining room was filled with the delicious aroma of a lovely roast pork dinner, complete with the most cracking crackling you could wish for. Plates were cleared in record time, but we still found room for a light and zesty lemon meringue pie that disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived.

And just when we thought the afternoon couldn’t get any sweeter, Kyle treated us to the songs of George Formby. There were smiles, toe tapping, and more than a few voices joining in.

Today we say a fond and heartfelt farewell to a very special member of our team… Christine. 🌸

After years of dedication, hard work and kindness Christine is retiring.

Christine has touched the lives of so many people here, through her warmth, patience and wonderful sense of humour. She has been a colleague and a friend to us all.

She will be missed by staff and residents alike.

While we will miss her greatly, we are so excited for her as she begins this new chapter. May it be filled with lie-ins, adventures, laughter and everything she has been too busy to do all these years.

Thank you, Christine, for everything. You leave very big shoes to fill.

Please join us in wishing her a long, happy and well deserved retirement!

Another wonderful performance from Domino Effect, treating us to a heart-warming selection of love songs. From timeless folk ballads to glittering disco classics, it was an afternoon filled with romance, rhythm, and plenty of smiles.

Just a simple midweek roast followed by apple crumble and custard ……..

Today was an absolutely wonderful day! We kicked things off with a delicious prawn cocktail, followed by a beautiful roast lamb dinner. Dessert was a treat with Italian cannoli and freshly made coffee to finish. Then came a fantastic afternoon of live opera from two incredibly talented singers. Katy and Jessica had everyone spellbound from the very first note to the last. What a day!
